Do you think he is average, good or great? based on all the tracks he has Produced so far from 1999 up till now.



Based on his Production discography i think overall he is a good Producer with a lotta classic Produced Albums and tracks. Has the potential to be a great Producer based on his future Production though.

Creative yes he doesn't Sample as much as other Producers Eminem actually makes Beats from scratch.

Well he doesn't Sample anywhere near as much as other Producers, He has countless tracks where he actually made the track from start from finish himself with out just getting an old skool Sample.



He also makes diffrent types of Beats from Lose Yourself to Jamaican Girl to Smack That to Superman to Warrior Part 2. So he certaintly has a diffrent type of sound for each Beat.

In short, great producers have made pieces of work that have CHANGED the sound of hip-hop or at least have "re-invented" its sound (such as Kanye bringing back soulful samples with Late Registration). Great Producers have a long and consistent career and have had a couple good prodigies come from them and do well.

Good Producers have a distinct personality to their beats and are relatively consistent. However, they are hardly creative/innovative and simply fit the frame of the game instead of changing it. They have a few classics under them.

Average producers have had hit singles (which someone like Freespeech likes) but they suffer from either a lack of consistency or a lack or originality.

Bad producers- people who tamper with fruityloops and think they are producers lol. Badly mixed tracks, overproduction rampant, musical feel lost.

^^^ That's a fair statement but i think when Eminem retires from Rap and just does Producing only i think when his career is done he will go down as an all time legendary great Producer.

Eminem is a genius when it comes to Beat Making cos he actually makes his own Music from scratch.

TBH TES was one of the best produced hip-hop albums and 8 Mile OST was pretty good production. Those are classic beats but the rest of discography in the production realm isn't on par with these two albums (well, one album and one soundtrack [counting the songs he produced on it]).

Oh BTW Sampling is just as creative as making music from scratch. Eminem has done both anyway. He did it on Till I Collapse for example.
