ya'll comparing Hopsin to Dre already?! SMFH, i wont even comment on that.

Reminds me reading Premo saying people like Statik Selekta ( IDGAF what his name spells like) sound like him. After listening to Richard and he himself calling the song a highlight of his career just had me frustrated.

Let me give ya'll youngings some advice- first compare Hopsin to the Hit-boys, Lex lugers and J Cole's before you even begin to speak about a legend.

Lets see the logic you are using.

Hopsin is making good beats.
Dre has made >>>> beats some of which are legendary.

Reason hopsin is making ok beats is because he is using "simple" equipment and he doesnt have the assets at Dre's disposal.
Give Hopsin the same equipment and he will make better beats.

Right? Let me tell you what that sounds like. That sounds like someone who has heard a guy play a GREAT track on a piano and say that person is better than Yanni/Mozart. It DOESNT MAKE SENSE!!!

Fuck, the reason i listed those guys is because they are the "new age" "fruity-loops" producers and therefore you can compare because they are no the same platform. Its comparing people who have guitars and not one has a guitar and another an orchestra. Get it?

Plus, its such a rushed conclusion to brush aside the guys i listed. Lex luger has produced TONS of club bangers from BMF (who doesnt know that track) Plus it made Rick Ross a STAR (can hopsin say that about anyone) or J Cole who had the best produced track on Section 80 (I still havent heard anything Hopsin produce that CLEAR) or Hit-boy with a RUNAWAY hit on a KANYE produced album with N*ggas in Paris? Ya'll need to seriously shut the fuck up.

BTW, Really liked the video and the "funky" beat at 9:08 sounds really good... looking forward to hearing that one. I liked how he seemed genuinely surprised at what the beat sounded like haha

Digging all the beats except for the one at 9.10, sounds like pans in the kitchen which I fucking hated. Really looking forward to this album and my respect for this man has grown even more :y:.

I'm sure the stuff Dre was using on The Chonic was much simpler than anything Hop uses.

Hopsin is very talented, and you guys are right to think he'll do big things, but he's nowhere near the level that Dre was at when he was using mostly analog equipment and doing it mostly by himself, even pre-Chronic.

Hopsin doesn't have to be better than Dre to be one of the best. He still has a ways to go though, for sure.

Only thing I disagree with is HiiPoWeR being the best produced track on Section.80, and I don't believe Fruity Loops was used to make that beat unless you show me proof.

Edit: In fact he used Logic for that beat. I remember him mentioning he uses logic to make his beats, he has never touched Fruity Loops. He used Reason before he was signed and now he uses Logic.

And as far as producing goes J Cole > Hopsin

this

plus I do not understand the hype around those beats. They are good, but nothing that would blow my mind. Still I am looking forward for the album, Hopsin is a great rapper, and a potentially great producer

Cannot wait for KM. Hopsin's got something that 99% of other rappers don't. I don't know what it is, either.
