I don't care if I have to fucking cycle there, If I was a famous recording artist and I knew I had fans that had paid money to SEE ME, I would not let them down. If I had MONEY in the bank, I'd pay my OWN MONEY to get there and give them a show. Regardless of if I didn't get paid last time or not.

I understand that promoters can be shady characters, but you've also got to understand that your fans paying and not getting a show, is way worse than a millionaire refusing to do a show because he didn't get paid, or he has to travel there in a van. I should have quit my job a few years ago because I don't like taking the bus to work.

If not for their fans, then at least for themselves. It's a future investment. Do a show for people, and they are more likely to support w/e you release. And one should also remember, the word spreads like mad, a good reputation when you're up-and-coming is VERY important (esp these days with internet. Look at the reactions at this site..).
