The Two Most Underrated

Postby Man1x » Jun 14th, '12, 16:34

Honestly, Jay-Z and Eminem are the two most underrated artists within the hip-hop community as a whole, on the Internet Jay-Z however is overrated and Eminem is either hated or loved depending where you look. I mean in real life only about 2 or three people I asked who the best hip-hop artists are said either Eminem or Jay. The others said PAC, Big (even though they never listened to them, and I know that because I saw their iPod's catalog before), Drake, Lil Wayne, or Kanye (I don't care about that answer really though because for me Kanye is a top 3 producer, but as a rapper he's not in my top 10).

I mean for their time The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, The Blueprint, and The Black Album > *

Hey don't come all passive aggressive cause I'm all calling you out on your garbage, and I know perfectly what you mean. As in you think that they don't get enough props for their work compared to other rappers, right? if that's the case still fuck no, and your thread does little to convince me or others that you aren't some sheltered stan with limited experience in hip hop.

They also get TONS OF praise and approval, what the fuck are you talking about.

The stupidity emaniting from this thread required two posts to fight it off, sorry man.

Also don't even think of patronizing me, I know full well what you mean, you think that hip hop circles like to be hip and underrate them to stand out. Well I used to think that except the fact that they're not a very vocal minority and are completely overshadowed by the legions of people championing both artists as the goats of our time. So no.,

Maybe a while back, now a days they are underrated...And ya, of course I'm a sheltered stan. That's why I admit Encore was shit, Relapse's accents were some of the worst vocals to be laid on a rap record, and Recovery's beats weren't quality. Right? Let's remember you came into my thread and attacked me by saying I don't listen to other artists. Ummmm okay:
Eminem

Anyway, you'd be surprised, they are underrated. People on hip-hop forums know more about their discographies than anyone in my school. The new age of hip-hop listeners underrate these two a lot, at least where I'm at. I understand this is arguable, but if you come in here to make stupid comments, get the fuck out.

Edit: Let me clarifiy. This doesn't mean they aren't multi-millionaires or not popular, what I'm trying to say the new age of hip-hop listeners, the ones that listen to Drake, Waka Flocka, Kid Ink, Wiz Khalifa, and so on underrate these two. I know their opinions don't matter to people on this forum. This is the case, at least where I am from.

That doesn't absolve you of being a stan as there are varying levels of being one, furthermore I never said you were just the way you came about in your original post did little to convince people otherwise.

Wow what makes you think listing a bunch of rappers of google with a bunch of haphazard throwaways elicits a real response? Also don't even think about playing hip hop listening penis with me, you'll get utterly demolished. I may not have listened to as much garbage artists but what I have listened to were quality artsits that actually took time to extract.

That's a list of all the rappers I listen to, an if you want a fuckin list of all the rappers I know be prepared for a book. Now faggot, get out of my thread.

Wah wah someone posted a less than flattering response not giving me fellatio my vagina's leaking.
Anyway, you'd be surprised, they are underrated.

No they fucking aren't

People on hip-hop forums know more about their discographies than anyone in my school.

What the fuck made you think this sentence is worth anything?
The new age of hip-hop listeners underrate these two a lot, at least where I'm at. I understand this is arguable, but if you come in here to make stupid comments, get the fuck out.

First off define underrated.Just because they don't think of them as goats are as great as you do doesn't mean that they're being underrated, I could easily shift this around and just say you're overrating them. So if you can't handle differing opinions I suggest you get of the internet you milquetoast piece of trash.

Okay, underrated: being listened on a top ten list under shit rappers like Waka Flocka and Gucci Mane by people you meet in real life, I'm not talking about forums. I'm talking about the average, dumb as bricks hip-hop listener. Their intelligence level is my opinion. But, whatever. And honestly, I'm not overratting them, Eminem's first three albums were amazing and Jay-Z has always been consistent. Second, I actually listen to all those rappers, and if you tell me a way to show you my iPod's library well then I'll do it.

Edit: Anyway, list the rappers you listen to. I'm interested since you think the ones I listen to are shit.
Also, have you never heard Jay-Z called Gay-Z and Eminem Feminem? I hear all the time he's brought up in real life. That's what I'm getting at, they are kind of just disrespected and hated on.

That doesn't make them underrated that just makes the retards who do that overrate waka flock and gucci mane, also seriously why does this bother you so much? You're acting as if they're all landless peasants and serfs for not giving Em and Jay their proper due, according to you.
, I'm not talking about forums. I'm talking about the average, dumb as bricks hip-hop listener.

In essence your posse of friends who you hang around, which doesn't constitute as evidence. Anecdotal evidence like your friends are thrown under the bus and never taken into consideration when trying to prove a point, they're in the heaping minority. Do you even fathom how fucking popular both of them are atm. They're arguably the two most popular rappers right now, so just because a bunch of morons (according to you) underrate them doesn't mean anywhere near the rest of the world due. ergo you're making it sound like it's bigger than it really is.

Their intelligence level is my opinion. But, whatever. And honestly, I'm not overrating them,

You are if you have to make a thread saying why they're underrated.

Eminem's first three albums were amazing and Jay-Z has always been consistent. Second, I actually listen to all those rappers, and if you tell me a way to show you my iPod's library well then I'll do it.

Yeah that's fascinating.

Edit: Anyway, list the rappers you listen to. I'm interested since you think the ones I listen to are shit.

I told you I don't wanna play hip hop listening penis here, so I'll just list a few favorite artists I listen too atm. Also this doesn't mean I enjoy their current work (i.e. Eminem)

Copywrite
Nas
Deltron
Lupe Fiasco
Ghostface
Eminem
Kanye West
Yak Ballz
Masta Ace
Celph Titled
Dessa
POS

etc etc

Also lol at your last edit so a few people make punny names out of them, do you think this is exclusive to them? Really or that it's not just a bunch of morons who think they're being clever? Really?

People that listen to Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, and artists like that are the normal hip hop fans now a days. And yeah, Jay-Z and Eminem are titans but they are also the most hated, easily. And I don't hang around with these people I asked, they are more of just affiliates that I hang out wit sometimes because they're a friend of a friend or in my class. Also, list all your artists. Seriously, sounds like you're the one that's limited. Also, you called half of those arists shit because half of them I listed, so you obviously just skimmed through my post or didn't look before you judge. And I respect you opinion on this matter, but you didn't have to be an ass hole from the first fucking comment. I much rather debate then you leaving messages that add nothing, which is your first two posts and some comments here and there. Also, Eminem's only popular when he's doing something and seeing that he isn't Kanye, Jay, Wayne, and Drake are the most popular currently. And I made this thread because the average hip hop listener in my area underrates them without referring to their discographies, not because I'm trying to get people to agree with me, it's more or less to find out if that's how it is every were else, and it's obviously not the case where you are.

Edit: and excuse my bad grammar I'm on my phone.

No they fucking aren't Jesus Christ where do you live that this is true, and if we're factoring in the internet which why wouldn't you; as guess who post on the internet, people. And the internet and real life don't exist in a vacuum you fool, in the internet especially fans of Wacka and Gucci are ridiculed, scorned and outcasted seemingly branded as retards. The only "bad" artists that people listen to are lil b and Kreayshawn the former being a fucking fad or meme adn the latter, idk really. Am expecting to fucking ignore this point and whine about how you're talking about IRL and not the internet like some asperger's ridden clod.

And yeah, Jay-Z and Eminem are titans but they are also the most hated, easily.

Holy shit fuck no, where the fuck do you live man. In some backwater ass country that knows next to nothing about hip hop, if so I apologize and redact all statements I said.

And I don't hang around with these people I asked, they are more of just affiliates that I hang out wit sometimes because they're a friend of a friend or in my class.

"I mean they're not really friends just acquaintances I hang around with, really guys!"
Also, list all your artists. Seriously, sounds like you're the one that's limited.

Two points why the fuck would I waste the time listing all my artists even if I do, you can easily brush it to the side as being copy and pasted somewhere else.
And two quality over quantity, I may not have the most but I do have quality and no shitstains like Crooked I in my playlist.

Also, you called half of those arists shit because half of them I listed, so you obviously just skimmed through my post or didn't look before you judge.

Well duh, a list with half good and half bad isn't a good list.
And I respect you opinion on this matter, but you didn't have to be an ass hole from the first fucking comment.

I'm only an asshole if you make retarded statements that simply are as far from the truth as can be to further embed into your thick skull how wrong you really are.
I much rather debate then you leaving messages that add nothing,
which is your first two posts and some comments here and there.

My first two are the most relevant posts in this thread and should have ended from there and you should have taken your fucking lumps and let it be, but you didn't now look at the mess we're in. Also,
Eminem's only popular when he's doing something and seeing that he isn't Kanye, Jay, Wayne, and Drake are the most popular currently.

So you admit Jay is already really popular which destroys the first half of your argument, now we're getting somewhere.
