Till' I Collapse - Doing well on the charts

Postby Man1x » Jun 15th, '12, 04:15

The label made such a mistake when they didn't make this song a single, it's ten years old and it's 15 on iTunes's Hip-Hop Charts and The Eminem Show is at 14. :b: Eminem stays winning in '12.

Moved to Shady Media.

On topic though, what song would you take out to make this one a single?

Without Me (funny lead single, can't remove it)
Superman
Sing For the Moment
Cleaning Out My Closet

Is that all? I don't remember any more.

I personally wouldn't change the set up. There's good variety in those singles. If you put TIC in for say...Superman, they'd all sound too similar.

I'd just have it as the second single and move all the others down one place. You can have more than just those.

Edit: I thought that the chit-chat and main section of Eminem finally merged, I mean there's a lot of bullshit in there so I didn't think it mattered. Anyway, not making Till' I Collapse a single is like Jay-Z not making Heart of the City (Ain't No Love), Hola' Hovito, or Renegade a single (those were some of my favorite from The Blueprint, I always thought they'd have been amazingly popular. The have a lot of replay value for me.)

Geno wrote:I don't think you can, or they would have made it the 5th single.

I think Going Through Changes or So Bad would've made good singles for Recovery, but it only had 3.

Not Afraid
Love the Way You Lie
No Love
Space Bound

That's four homie haha.

Here's a post I made:

Man1x wrote:I think Eminem should have made the single of "The Eminem Show" go in this order, it would have sold more and more of the music would have been heard:

1.) Without Me
2.) Cleanin' Out My Closet
3.) Sing For The Moment
4.) 'Till I Collapse
5.) Superman
6.) Hailie's Song
7.) Soldier
8.) Say Goodbye Hollywood

If it went in this order, I feel the album would have sold even more and nearly all these songs would have been massive hits, 'Till I Collapse especially. I think that in between Superman & Hailie's Song is when Lose Yourself would be released along with the movie: 8 Mile, this would have made the following singles feel fresh after that massive hit. Then after they pushed out Say Goodbye Hollywood they should have released Love Me as a single with Stimulate as the final single to end this theoretical amazing run.

Anyway, SFTM is an amazing song all around. It's perfection.

Edit:

It would have gone:

1.) Without Me
*The Eminem Show is released*
2.) Cleanin' Out My Closet
3.) Singe For The Moment
4.) 'Till I Collapse
5.) Superman
6.) Lose Yourself
*8 Mile OST is released*
7.) Wanksta
8.) Hailie's Song
9.) Soldier
10.) Say Goodbye Hollywood
11.) In Da Club
12.) Love Me
13.) Stimulate
14.) One Day At A Time
*GRODT is released*

Just image that run with power house singles such as 'Till I Collapse & Lose Yourself keeping the hype high as fuck, and if In Da Club was released before Love Me, then that song could have been massive as well. Then to wrap things up, you release One Day At A Time with 2Pac for all that was worth leading into GRODT.

Listener: What the hell's Eminem saying in the first verse? He's doing some stupid rhyme pattern thingo. I can't dance to this in the club. Well, these rhymes are sailing over my head, so I guess the only thing I'll focus on is whether he drops any celebrities' names. Hmm...waiting, waiting, still waiting--AHA! He just mentioned Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

Gawsh, way to be relevant, Eminem. All these dated pop culture references in an attempt to be relevant again. Christ, he's still rapping? Bring on the chorus so I can dance. Ah, there we go, some black guy singing the chorus so I can get crunk. Oh Jesus Christ, there's a third verse. I'm switching this shit off. My attention span isn't even long enough to read more than 40 characters in a Twitter post, let alone hear three verses of rapping. Plus the song didn't even have a video. My brain can't handle audio alone anymore, I need a video to go with every song I hear. I need moving images and pretty colors and fancy graphics to keep my attention.

Yea.. Pretty sure that's just you buddy.

Geno wrote:Oh yeah, completely forgot about No Love being a single.

I don't think Em likes the whole process of singles. I don't think he likes making music videos at all. Nearly every song on TES could've been a single, but there was only 4 (was White America a single? I think it was, so 5 already). Recovery could've had 5 or 6, only 4. Encore had 6 I think, but only 5 vids. Encore was a single but had no vid. Relapse had only 4 but CAB's video was awful. He wasn't even in it. Even Beautiful's video was missing the 3rd verse.

He could pretty much make at least 2 more singles per album but he:

1. Doesn't care about money
2. Doesn't care to make n number of vids per album
3. Is happy with the singles he chose

Yeah, but his career, as monstrous as it is, could have been a different kind of beast.

If it did, I'd imagine it would be a Without Me version of GatMan & Robin...

Till I Collapse is well over 1 million downloads in the US. That's mind-blowing when you think about it really.
