He'd just seen his ex-girlfriend who told him the Free-World artists' were going around making fun of the fact he choked. He was extremely pissed off, and thus when he saw them he flipped. Wink or whatever his name was might have had something to do with it, but the fact that he choked is a much more credible reason.
