When Mike Shinoda says that Linking Park makes sounds that are not from normal instruments he absolutely meant it. When listening to this shit, it makes it so hard to decipher whats a piano, guitar, clap, fucking spoon on a pot and i LOVE that. Nowhere better than on the intro to Roads untravelled- who ever heard that shit? Brilliant. First time i listened to the album i had a low quality version and it sounded bad. The new, smoother listenable 320 kbs is growing on me though so i will post a review when i feel closer to the music.

fucking THIS!! I understand those that dont give him a chance but those who dismiss him as a "rockstar trying to rap" have some serious issues going on. Fort Minor is one of the most criminally underrated rap crew ever!!

Grey Daze is pretty bland too, haha.

I don't think Fort got slept on, then again, not a lot of cats talked about them back in the day...

Living Things exceeded my expectations.

My new ranking of the albums
1.Meteora
2.Hybrid Theory
3.A Thousand Suns
4.Living Things
5.Minutes To Midnight

Living things might move above A thousand suns over time for me but its no way better than HT & M IMO.
Minutes To Midnight might be last but its a GREAT album. Many Classic songs in it. But overall it lacks compared to other 4.

Here's a little review I just typed up:

Lost In The Echo - 10/10, perfect opener for this album. Has an old LP feel to it but also feels fresh and new at the same time. Lyrics are great and the hook is brilliantly delivered. Awesome track and great start to the album.

In My Remains - 8/10, a decent rock track that sounds like it could have come from Minutes To Midnight. I think it works as the second track, don't have too much more to say about it.

Burn It Down - 7/10, very catchy but with that being said I think it's the worst song on the album. Still a good song though.

Lies Greed Misery - 7.5/10, haven't listened to this track a whole lot but I like that Mike is rapping on it. 2nd worst track on the album for me and still a good song.

I'll Be Gone - 9/10, this is another great rock song. Just enjoy the overall vibe of this song. The album really gets interesting to me at this point.

Castle Of Glass - 9/10, very different track from LP and tbh I love it. I like the melody a whole lot and the music was beautifully composed.

Victimized - 10/10, this is an excellent track. Short, but this is pretty incredible. Very heavy and aggressive. I wish like hell this was a full song. Feels like a preview of things to come.

Roads Untraveled - 10/10, as I stated earlier in this thread this song is kinda soft for me...but soft doesn't equal bad. In fact, this song is so fucking good that I feel like it's necessary to listen to this song after Victimized...the lyrics are on point. Just a great song.

Skin To Bone - 9/10, I love this song for some reason. I just love the overall vibe. It's creepy but awesome at the same time. Can't praise it enough, another great song.

Until It Breaks - 8/10, this song had to grow on me a little...despite the fact that Mike is rapping on the track, it starts off kinda weird...but I think the song really picks up during Chester's bridge and Mike's second verse. I still think the track is pretty good, just not what I expected. Of course, this is a very different album from the rest of their albums and they surprised me a lot on this album.

Tinfoil/Powerless - 10/10, great end to this great album. It's the true climax of the album musically. Once again the lyrics are on point. Couldn't have asked for a better ending to this epic album.

Final score - 9/10

This is just a fantastic album. Their best album since Meteora and I loved Minutes To Midnight. It feels like the new age LP. They weren't lying when they said they felt comfortable in their own skin...this album has songs for all of their fans. Has some rapping, some rock, and experimentation. I'm excited to see what their next album brings to the table.

For me, it's currently:

1. Meteora
2. Hybrid Theory
3. Living Things
4. Minutes to Midnight
5. A Thousand Suns

Yeah, I heard about them when I Googled a bit of shit, but yeah, you really need to research to know about them and your average LP fan wouldn't have the time or effort back then...

You guys overhyped me. The album was really good but its no Meteora or hybrid theory. Its tied for second place with minutes to midnight for me.

1.Meteora and Hybrid theory
2.M2M and Living things
3.A thousand suns.

I like the album quite a bit, but it disappoints me how the "beats" aren't as memorable as they used to be. Listening to stuff like Faint, or Nobody's Listening, their sounds used to be incredible, and now it feels more generic. Still some really solid stuff.

I didn't like any of the songs as much as The Catalyst though.

Is it worth pre-ordering "Living Things"? I got Hybrid Theory & Meteora and I like both album but love meteora more.

Anyway, is it worth it?
