Why is Pirlo better than these players? Lampard as a midfielder is Chelsea's all time top scoring midfielder, and the third top scorer for his club, he is always there in the hardest times, he brightens up big games, he can score free kicks and penalties just like Pirlo, Pirlo is better in passing, Lampard is better in scoring/finishing attacks, plus Lampard defends like no other, he's a box to box player (ofc he's taken less of that role now, cause age is starting to get effect on him), but IMO, Lampard > Pirlo

Until I see Lampard (who I like as a player) running the show on the big stage like Pirlo did last night, then I'll consider a comparison. Scholes is probably a better comparison but England always played out of position. Gerrard shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Pirlo.

England are average and Hodgson did well to get them to the quarter finals. When you look at that team, quarter finals is really the best they can hope for. Redknapp wouldn't have got them out of the group.

The idea they have loads of world class players is hilarious. Hart, Cole and Rooney is about as far it goes in terms of world class players right now. And Rooney hasn't played well for England since 2004.
