Who likes CunninLynguists?

Postby KaZer » Jun 25th, '12, 19:00

I'm starting to get into CunninLynguists. I started to listen to Oneirology, then I dl other first albums and start from there. I really like to production of those albums.

I'm listening to Will Rap For Food right now...

Later on, I'll listen to:
Oneirology
SouthernUnderground
Strange Journey Volume 1 & 2
Dirty Acres

What album sounds good to you?

Also I would like to say thanks to GenePeer & D3RDYPK

Aw man, absolutely fell in love with Oneirology. I can advice you to listen to it with your headphones on, eyes closed. Absolutely fabulous album.
Southerunderground, Dirty Acres, Will rap for food, A piece of strange, all great ass albums. Also KNO's solo project is super dope. On the same level as Oneirology.

IMO Cunninlynguists is one of the very best hip-hop groups :)

EDIT: just have to add some shit, my post was too short :p

They have a great variety of albums. Will rap for food being the most 'street' type album, Dirty Acres being more of a modern hip-hop album. A piece of strange is a concept album with some of that street energy in it, but Oneirology is really a high tech peace of art. The group absolutely develops really well throughout their carreer. Compared to the albums, the mixtapes aren't as good and especially not well-organized like the albums are, but still really good stuff.

Name - 'Kno's beats are legendary' Well said and I agree!

Pawel - Thanks for the brief summery about each of the albums. Very helpful. Also I forgot to put Kno's Solo album: Death Is Silent on the list and I haven't listen to it yet. I didn't know they had mixtapes too, cool and again thanks.

Lello - I got them from band camp.com and A Piece Of Strange isn't downloadable for some reason, which I really want to get it. If its da bomb like you said, could u pm me link please, would really appreciate it.

I like the artwork on Oneirology, A Piece Of Strange and Will Rap For Food. I really like the artwork on SouthernUnderground, it has a comic book look. I'm huge fan of Comic books/Graphic Novels. :flutter:

Please list top 10 or 20 songs from any of those albums you guys enjoy listening to.

What do you think of Marq-Spekt & Kno - MacheteVision?

Oneirology... an unforgettable, powerful, classic album. One of the best of 2011. Kno is one of the best producers in the world so... his last album was brilliant too. Marq Spekt & Kno? Good project, but these first two albums which I mentioned are better IMO.

I was listening to "Beautiful Girl" from "A Piece of Strange" few hours ago. That motivated me to get into their work, a little more in depth. Love that song. Thanks for the heads up. :y:

Actually most of their albums are concept albums and should be listened to as a whole :) every project is really one big project, and not just loose songs. Oneirology even has a little story within the greater story :D

A few songs I really enjoy out of context though are: Nasty Filthy, KKKY, The Gates, Hard as they come, Move.
But yeah, so many dope tracks.

EDIT: Also, lynguistics with the crazy ass beat :p

If they had a better name, they'd be big (I guess they still are). Anyway, I remember spending weeks ignoring them thinking they're some sex/horrorcore gimmicks; the Oneirology cover art didn't help either. A year later, I can't get enough of their albums.
