I sat here maybe for an hour trying to figure out what to type here but I'm lost
apparently both songs sound the same but...ones godly & the other isn't?
therefore they don't really sound the same do they? why is this song so shit to you?
why do both songs somehow sound the same besides the fact that there both brag rap?
is the Slaughterhouse song somehow better because it has more rappers on it?

Those two songs in particular is shit to me. It was just an example. I could compare God Flow to say Microphone, but thats irrelevant. This thread is about this particular song and its awfulness.

You are the fan. Explain to my deaf ears why this is good. And dont give me "the beat is killer and the flow is awsome"-shit, cause its not. Maybe its as simple as someone said earlier. You hear it, or you dont.

the beat is killer, the flow is awesome, the song is godly even though I only listened twice

why explain why it's good when you'v never heard Yeezy album in full?
I'm not saying you don't have an opinion...it'd just mean a lil more if you knew all little more
because at the start of the day your not gonna give a fuck & I'm not gonna hear this song again so... idk

You don't have to hear an entire album to appreciate one song, Derdy.

you could though, what if the album had skits leading into the songs n shit.
you'd appreciate that one song more with a great skit before it probably

Song is amazing, if you don't like it, you probably aren't a Kanye fan to begin with.

Some of you guys are so fucking colored its cray (see what I did there?).
If you are a fan, than you will defend him till the death. He doesnt even have to try, Its the talk about Eminem making a album full of fart and burpsounds all over again.
This isnt good compared to anything else in the top "rapgame" right now. Maybe its good compared to Kanyes old material, I dont know and I dont care. I love listening to new music and hearing an new artist, but this fucker dont get to me. I cant pull my head around the fact that he is considered a rap giant!
I am not one of those who think hip hop is dead and say that this and that is real hip hop. It evolves and changes all the time. Its just sad to see that its nowdays accepted to pull out this shit and still be considered a heavyweight champion.

Yes, but that's not the situation here.

You said you wouldn't explain the greatness of the song because he had never heard a Kanye album in entirety. This is a single song, that you obviously appreciate without the rest of the album. It stands on its own.

My point is that you don't need to hear Kanye's previous work to know a good song when you hear it.

Thats not the same thing. (Dont know why these references to Eminem comes up but what the hell)
When Throw it up and Richard came out, us "stans" defended it by saying it wasnt any good, but it sure as hell wasnt bad either. It was different, and it was quite obvious that he was trying something else at that point. He did the cypher (showed everyone that hes still here) and previous to that he did a couple of albums (relapse and recovery, great albums in all aspects depending on how you look at it) with freestyles (Tim Westwood and Rap basement) prior to them that were fucking killer.

THIS however is the same bullshit all over again, and it will continue.
Heavy simple beats with some strange sound in the background, with kanye on top bragging about how good he is and where he came from to where he is now.

But youre right. you will defend your football team, and I will defend mine. :flower:

I'll leave it at that because I'm starting to think you're too stoned to understand what's going on here. That's not an insult, I just really can't think of any other reason why you'd keep missing the point. Love the song, hate the song, it's all good. If you can't explain why, that's fine too. Just don't act like it's someone else's fault that you are unable to explain why you love it.

You're a fan. You think the song is amazing. You don't know why. When asked why, the proper response would be "I don't know", or "I'm just a big fan of Kanye", not "Well, I'm not going to explain it to you, because you've never even heard a full Kanye album before. You wouldn't understand.".

That's all I'm saying. I haven't even heard the song. I have no feelings towards it one way or the other. I'm just an advocate of defending your point with the truth, whether it be technical detail, or just being a fan. There's nothing wrong with either of those. It's the cop outs that I have trouble with.

Anyway, you're still a cool stoner dude in my book. Just trying to make sense of it all. :y:

@Everyone, what are your favorite aspects of the song and why? Just out of curiosity, as I know different people value different things.

I mentioned them as an example, I didnt compare Kanye to Eminem. But i can see if you thought that im just a dickrider for Shady, trust me Im not. Im more for Funk Volume. And with "real music" I meant what hiphop used to be in its golden age.
