Black Hippy X Slaughterhouse

Postby Man1x » Jul 11th, '12, 02:38

A star-studded collaboration involving the lyricists of Slaughterhouse and Top Dawg Entertainment is in the works.
Yesterday, Twitter personality OFFICIALLYICE played the role of an A&R, by mentioning each member of both respective camps in a status update; "So.... @kendricklamar @absoul @jayrock @ScHoolBoyQ @JoellOrtiz @JoeBudden @CrookedIntriago @Royceda59 I found a beat..."
After Ice's initial message received over a 100 retweets, Slaughterhouse's Joe Budden responded back promptly with a tweet of his own, "@OFFICIALLYICE @KENDRICKLAMAR @absoul @JAYROCK @SCHOOLBOYQ @JOELLORTIZ @CROOKEDINTRIAGO @ROYCEDA59 dogs, SH is in, check them other niggas."
According to OFFICIALLYICE'S TIMELINE, a few hours later, Joe Budden and Ab-Soul were on the phone discussing the possibilities and potential of what promises to be a track that influxes eight of the game's illest lyricists. The conversation presumably went well, with Top Dawg Entertainment's rising star telling the New Jersey native, "I'm with it. Send me your email and I'll get a beat to you ASAP."
In related news, Slaughterhouse is currently prepping for their second compilation album, Welcome to: Our House, which is their first studio release on the Shady Records imprint. Eminem mixed the LP, whichdrops on August 28.
Meanwhile, the Black Hippy collective has quickly risen through the ranks, regarded as one of the more lyrical rap crews around. Kendrick Lamar recently set October 2 as the release date for his good kid, m.A.A.d city album. K. Dot has already released his Dr. Dre-assisted single, "The Recipe."
A collaboration between Slaughterhouse and Black Hippy would be a dream come true for lovers of lyricism. Stay tuned to XXLMAG.COM for more updates on this developing story. --Christian Bonoan

Technically Black Hippy and Slaughterhouse are the same label, also I believe Aftermath is Shady's parent company. Anyway, I don't care for a D12 and Slaughterhouse track. I feel like D12 is unable to make a good track without Proof, and even then Eminem was the only force pulling a large amount of weight popularity and skill wise. Also, I'd like this track if Slaughterhouse is able to keep up with Black Hippy in all catagories, but that's not likely. The only battle might be lyricism, but Black Hippy might easily take that catagory and all the others as well.

Yeah, you're right. I meant Shady though lol.

Gotcha, well looks like it's happening. Maybe is will be a free solo track like 2.0 Boys. I can't see it being on a Black Hippy album. It could be for Slaughterhouse's album. I'd love this to open the door for Eminem to collaborate with Black Hippy. He obviously already knew who they were, and I think I read some where that Paul B. showed Dr. Dre who Kendrick Lamar was, and Eminem even said that Ab-Soul reminded him of Slim Shady, so they've obviously talked and maybe met in person.

And I think the SH album is done. Maybe for their mixtape.

Kendrick Lamar tweeted something a while back that said that. I'll link it later but it definitely exists. The tweet was something like: "Em says Soul reminds him of Slim Shady.... How is this year going to play out?" it was something like that.

Black Hippy x Eminem would probably make my year. I'd rather hear a new Black Hippy song without Slaughterhouse than to hear one with them.

I want Eminem to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Schoolboy Q on solo songs and then do a Black Hippy collaboration with them. To be honest, I don't care for the Slaughterhouse part of that up coming track unless the actually show growth, if they don't they will get murdered in every aspect. It will probably be embarrassing to listen to Slaughterhouse get their asses kicked by Black Hippy. If they are horrible I will just cut them out and keep the Black Hippy verses. Black Hippy > * currently.

Link, and I knew it wasn't a rumor. However, I want to see what Strange Music has to say.

So Black Hippy is signed to Aftermath?
I thought Kendrick was signed to Aftermath, and Black Hippy to Interscope. But it's the same anyway
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

This will be epic, fuck all you Slaughterhouse haters & naysayers, just cause they have 3 poppy lead singles people think they've fallen off, thumbs down.

I'm not saying that because of their singles or that they fell off. It's just my opinion that even on their best day they will be slaughtered by Black Hippy in all aspects of rapping, easily. This truly will be embarrassing for Slaughterouse unless they step up their game to a higher level, which I doubt. That group has no chemistry what so ever.

I think Joe and Royce are the only rappers that could compare to Black Hippy, as individual artists.
Slaughterhouse as a group is not as good, so this will be interesting :y:

Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Schoolboy Q never let me down. I'd say those three and Joe Budden will come out on top.

despite Black Hippy's great lyricism, they rhyme like pre-schoolers.
