The Assassin's Creed series is brilliant.

It was a good series, but after the second game the series went downhill...

They should rename it 'Climb a tower then kill someone', because that's all it seems to entail.

In that case the Hitman series should be renamed "Walk around then kill someone", and GTA should be renamed "Run around then kill someone", and Final Fantasy should be renamed "Walk around and kill creatures", and Call of Duty should be renamed "Run around then kill soldiers", and Portal should be renamed "Walk around then solve puzzles"...Etc.

Honestly I bought the first one off the countless reccomendations, and it just bores the piss out of me. Honestly. I genuinely tried to like it.

Way to overrated. Good characters, decent story, nice environments, TERRIBLE gameplay.

The first one had terrible gameplay, but the ones after that are amaz8ing. I'm not a die hard fan but this is my favorite series. I mean did you see the end of revelations? Holy shit! And AC 3 gon def be the best video game in a long time. AC 2 remains the best do far, however.

They could have taken a whole new direction with the story, I'm not too fond of the whole "sci-fi" stuff.

But yeah, I agree with the gameplay being terrible. Very repetitive, long trips and of course the usual fast travel. Oh well.

There's so much more to Hitman though; so many alternate paths and methods to eliminating your target.

@Sam, Brotherhood probably has the best gameplay. I just beat that one a second time, I thought it was amazing. You gotta get the add-on's like the Da Vinci Disappearance and Copernicus DLC's. I didn't know Da Vinci was gay before this game, I thought that was a cool little fact. I guess it explains a lot of the real things he did. Such as the Vitruvian Man and speculation that the Mona Lisa was actually a guy disguised as a girl (something of that nature).
