I said lyrically and delivery wise...what is so incomprehensible about that? Lol.
You think lyrics=rhymes though.
Menzo wrote:There were not nearly as many corny punches as you make out to be, the song with the corniest punches by far is "Not Afraid" and that's probably his softest/fakest song on the album and coincidentally was the single.
Why do you keep using the word corny? They aren't corny. They're flat out horrible. And no, the song with the most cringe worthy punchlines is definitely WBD although Not Afraid is pretty bad too.
Menzo wrote:"So Bad" is far from mediocre lyrically...again, I don't even know what you mean by lyrically in its entirety, but it captures the nonchalant sarcastic essence of Slim Shady and he rhymes pretty damn good on it too (even if that's the least important to you).
But, as a filler track...maybe, it does seem a little random but I think he just needed to put a Dre track on it.
So Bad definitely is filler. The concept is unoriginal, and there's nothing special about it lyrically. The rhymes aren't even great. That thank you for staying april thing for example.
He could have done something a lot better with a Dre beat but then again he just wanted to rush something mainstreamish out so people would accept him again.
Menzo wrote:What ARE you complaining about then? You aren't actually describing your definitive interpretation of what "lyrical" means.
And no, I'm not trying to justify the lyricism of those two songs by comparing multies, but you're giving me nothing to work with. What? "Stan" was an artistic boundary breaking masterpiece meanwhile "The Reunion" was just a funny storytelling track? Alright...the fuck do I say about that? I'm not gonna try to say "The Reunion" is anything groundbreaking...
You're delusional.
I'm saying that the lyrics weren't very good. The rhyming was fine (although one of his worst albums rhyme wise other than Encore), but there's hardly any original ideas, it's filled with terrible punchlines, there's nothing witty, insightful , or interesting about the lyrics.
What
is good about Recovery to you?..
