Firstly, I'm a big Nas fan so I'm not hating or anything.

I think this album is Nas' most mainstream album, however that doesn't mean that we hear some of the style of rapping which we've grown to love from Nas.

This album, on my first listen I thought, that the first half is dope, second half gets less interesting and doesn't grab my attention. Nas' production has always been questionable, some of the beats on this album were a hit and miss, most of them were a hit though.

Best Tracks:

No Introduction
Loco-Motive
A Queens Story
Reach Out
World's An Addiction
Stay
Trust

This is on initial thoughts, I haven't played it enough. Give this album a few more weeks and we'll see if it has a replay value. The album is number 1 here in the UK (iTunes), he recently did a tour in England. And quite abit of marketing too, I've seen bus stands with the album cover, radio adverts, tv adverts .. etc.

So I think his label are helping him, which others in the past haven't. Although I think he has compromised on the music a little, so the label can market him.

I preferred 'Hip Hop Is Dead' than 'Life Is Good'. I would rank this album number number 7 or 8.

1) Illmatic
2) It was written (this album is so underrated)
3) Stillmatic
4) God's Son
6) I Am
6) Hip-Hop Is Dead
7/8) tie between Untittled/Life Is Good
9/9/10) tie between Nastradamus/Nastradamus/Street's Disciple

Life Is Good is better than most, if not all hip/hop albums that has been released in the last year or so. Which isn't a tough bar to surpass, if I'm honest.

i think people expect to much out of an artist these days, Nas is not gonna drop another Illmatic, and he's certinly not a rapper to get hype to, Nas makes music for people to chill to, and add's an actual message to his songs instead of making that fake hustler, shit *cough* Rick Ross *cough

Aside from Daughters and The Don, which were the lead singles which got me pumped for this album, the album is garbage...I'm considering deleting it

So I have not listened to this album yet, but tell me: is it worth a purchase or should I just download it?

I'm gonna listen either way, so be honest.

download, the album is not worth 14 euro's.
Also you can buy 1 song, because they all sound the same

I wasn't asking you.

Nas is in my top 3, and it would be cheaper for me, because I use pounds.

that's not cheaper >.< it's still the same value if you count it as euro's..

and a second thing, nas will always be in my top 5, the album is just not good.. but hey that's possible, not every album has to be good. I am just not a guy who supports there artists blindly, you always have to be critical..

that being said, they always said to lil wayne that he is good, with everything he brought out, so now he can say the most random things and say the most stupid things and his fans will always like him

It's a solid album. I loved it on first listen but it doesn't seem to have huge replay value and there are some concepts which I don't think Nas was creative enough with.

EDIT: I'm being harsh there. Just listening bits of it again and it's better than solid. I just think there's times when Nas didn't push ideas as much as he could (Roses, for eg). It's very good, better than I expected.
