They have assloads of artists signed that didnt get famous and probably will never. The ones that did, all ended up compromising their art beyond recognition, and they have no plans of going back.

This. Only like 30% of YM's roster reached mainstream success. Theres literally like 12+ artists that no one gives any fucks about. And out of those 12 like 9 haven't even released an album or mixtape.
(These aren't exact numbers, just rough estimation.)

G.O.O.D music released Mercy, it's second on Itunes. It has lots of views, and their album is coming this summer. They have chemistry, they can keep their fans updated and they drop music on a regular basis.

Plus they love each other. When Pusha T dissed Lil Wayne, every member tweeted "I love my nigga pusha" or shit like that. That's how a label should be.

Uh.. you're right, I think Eminem should three things..
1. Update the label's rappers, it's still stuck with the same old school, Slaughterhouse are some kind of gangsta rappers - it won't work now a'days.. gangsta rap is not trending now a'days. I'm not saying that he should get himself some kind of Lil Wayne.. NO!, but D12's and Slaughterhouse's style is old..
2. Eminem should advertise and promote his artists better, he should do everything to promote them, Eminem is extremely famous worldwide right? He should use it to introduce his artists to the world.
3. Make sure his artists will release stuff and keep their fans updated constantly.

They release GOOD music constantly. The music is entertaining, appealing, GOOD.

If only Em would actually take the GOOD Music approach and do exactly what Trimss said...

Only problem with GOOD was Mercy being BAD. With Sean being OBNOXIOUS, and the beat being TRASH.

Shady Records used to feel organic, as if he it really did just prop up good rappers to be great...

GOOD Music is the place right now.

Radioactive was a major compromise / fail (at least Yela publicly acknowledged that though) and I believe Our House is going to be by the looks of it too.

But if new artists like Pusha T are releasing new music very often how does it actually help them to get famous faster? I can only see how it helps the label be better and such, but how does it help them to become big names faster?

I somewhat think it's Eminem. I think the problem is he listens to old school rap. He has every old school rap song from the 80's and early 90's memorized. It seems when it comes to shady records all the music and rappers he pushes has to have that old school feel. As much as he loves it and wants to revive it that's not going to sell today. Budden, Crooked and Royce are great rappers, but they don't seem to know how to do mainstream songs and that's why they have failed on every album and needed signed to a label like shady which should be for new artists.

Yelawolf was their only potential but the choice of singles and poor promotion have pretty much seperated Yela from the label and I doubt we'll see him do anything else with them.

The ONLY way Shady 2.0 would pick up is a Shady 2.0 album that is loaded with Eminem tracks. Everyone else seems to know this. Young Money, GOOD, Maybach, etc. were smart enough to feature the hell out of there artists and drop compilations featuring their artists before dropping solo's. I mean how many songs are there of Eminem featuring SH or Yelawolf???? How many times has he performed with them??? How many interviews or appearances has he done with them??? Very little to none is the answer. The point of an artist signing to Shady records is to get that Eminem co-sign. Which means more than your signature. It means lots of music and appearances with Eminem. I don't think Em has grasped that. The more he puts in the beginning the better chance they will succeed on their own afterwards.

"Run the rap game" is more than just big names.
They have rappers who put put good music very often. Kanye, Big Sean, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Cyhi Da Price ect are all great rappers.

Em really need to sign someone new
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

That's why I said when it comes to shady records artists. His own music is pretty unique. Every album is different. But all his artists on Shady records is the same with the exception of Yelawolf. He was the only one unique that has the potential to be huge mainstream. I wouldn't count him out just yet... maybe just out of Shady.

^Exactly what I meant, every Shady Records' rappers except Eminem and Yelawolf are the same.. same typical old school rappers and that's what people are NOT looking for today.

Back to my question, we were talking about rappers becoming famous way more faster if they are in YM/GOOD than in Shady Records and I don't get why, I don't see how releasing music very often helps them to get famous faster?

It would just delay Em's album if he did that. Maybe after his album he will. I could see him signing Hopsin but Hopsin likely would respectfully decline since he wants to do his own thing.

Yeah, he actually did say that two days ago when he was on some live chat, specifically about Shady Records (because somebody asked).
