We can't assume what happens after death. We haven't died yet, though, in death we may also not know that we are dead. We also may know. Any slight assumption towards what happens after death is just ignorance to me. "Find out when you die". Because you've died to prove you'll find out. It's all very logical.
Having that said, I have 0 taste for religion.
We know what happens after death: nothing. All brain function and "reality" is merely our brain. At death, our brain shuts down and turns off. Thus, there is nothing after death. Think of the time before you were born. You can't. You weren't in existence. Just like before birth, when you die, you cease to exist. You won't know you're dead, you know why? You'd be fucking dead.
Having said that, I have negative taste for religion (I'm a militant atheist at times).
