If another artist made Recovery a great 1

Postby AmmoHaze » Aug 2nd, '12, 11:39

Let's say a Pac or Cudi or even Joe Budden would it get way more love then it does just cos Em released it the best aspect of it by people who dislike it is criminally over looked which is the Song Writting.

I don`t know what to think about threads like this. You can`t say "what if XYZ made Recovery" because there are personal songs on that album about Eminems life. If Budden did it it would not be Recovery, would it.

But you have a point here, I think Em gets more criticism than others.

If another voice would have made recovery, yes... it could be loved more. People tend to be more critical of albums they listen to more often as they then identify the flaws with it.

People in general love Recovery, I have said this hundreds of times but again, Eminem does something that not many rap artits does, approach rap to people who don't listen rap usually. I have friends who only listen to rock and they love Recovery, I'm more of a Rock person too.

It's here and I guess on other forums like this, where people is bitching about Recovery (now), because when I registered here back in 2010 people was loving Recovery and hating Relapse....Some Stans are never happy.

Recovery sales are crazy. Do you think another rap artist would sell so many records all over the world ? No.

Then it would have more singing on it, than rapping. Albums are made by rappers who have something in relation to what he wan't to say, feels at that point. I can't think of a rapper who has endured what Eminem has. No two rappers can have the same experience, so it's materialistic to even think of this.

This is very true. Am I one of few people on here that really loves Recovery? Yeah, he had a lot of first singles, poppy type of records on the record but he also talked about a variety of other subjects, unlike Relapse, which, except for a couple notable deep songs like Beautiful & Deja Vu, was all serial killer material, which I enjoyed, but I'm just making a point, & stating facts here. Not only that, but Recovery had some of the most wittiest, over your head, lyricism I've seen in awhile. Obviously not Eminem's best work, nor worst, but that doesn't say much considering he's one, if not thee, best rapper ever, so work like Recovery gathers hate because of it, but meanwhile he does talk about many important things:

-Divorce & the effect(s) it has on (a) child/children
-Rehab & bouncing back strong from it
-Depression & overcoming it
-Domestic abuse
-Facing your fears
-A tribute song to his best friend

etc.
