Amadeo wrote:Tupac really isn't that good. I'd wager most of his fans are white people who want to be kewl and fit in, so they put him on a pedestal. I was one of them.
I remember listening to The Eminem Show in 2002 and a few dickheads at my school saying "Nah come on bro, Eminem's corny. You should listen to Tupac and Canibus." Then I listened to "Ambitionz As A Ridah," trying desperately to love it. My foolish, impressionable mind fell for all the hype at first. "GOAT rapper! He's such a poet! Wayyyy better than Eminem!! So metaphorical and shit."
Not to say he wasn't poetic at times...but he's no way near being the greatest.

I don't agree with him but Won't Back Down is powerful, mixing and the drums are terrible but the verses are worth listening to, especially when working out.

Just because they've had emotional songs doesn't make them the same, hell! If it was about emotional songs, then rappers are similar to each other.
There literally hundreds of rappers that touched the same topics Em and Pac have touched, just because these two are the biggest and most popular ones doesn't make them similar to each other at all.
