Howard pissed me off that interview, kept mentioning Em's accent and his dad leaving and shit like that. Em's facial expressions didn't seem too happy whenever he brought that shit up.

Was he though? It seemed like he was at first (for the first part of the interview) but I felt like he warmed to Em quite a bit in the later part. I got the impression that Howard sort of put him through the ringer, but that he "passed' the test, so to speak. I heard (and maybe this isn't true, I just heard) that Howard actually really liked Em. He gave him a hard time, like he does to everyone, but I think he ended up taking him fairly seriously, in the end. If you listen to the whole interview, Howard more or less stops making fun of him not too far in. I can understand that Em would be annoyed/bored with the "you talk black" blah blah stuff.... but that wasn't REALLY Howard's fault. Em was just a novelty at that point in time; it seemed like a contradiction that he existed and people wanted answers. lol. I don't blame Em for getting fed up, but I also don't blame journalists for asking him about that kind of stuff. If Em was pissed at Howard in particular though, I think he may have been being a BIT oversensitive...maybe. The callers, though.. yeah, they were dicks.

The Howard stern interview was hilarious. The callers were assholes but from memory he gets a couple of fans call in too. I think Howard was just joking around with him, that's the vibe I got. It is Howard Stern after all.

That's my favorite Em interview, I think it's awesome. Some of those interviewers were dicks to Em back in '99 but that's better than kissing his ass, as every fucking interviewer has done so in the last 10 years. It's like nobody is ever being critical to him and stuff. Or moreover, questioning some of his answers and reasoning. This interview was very honest in a way and it was cool to see Em kinda degraded.

I agree but to a certain extent. howard rarely said something uplifting to em. like he was just a dick the whole time imo.
