name wrote:Song of the year so far is Sixteen by Rick Ross. :coffee:

No. Andre's verse is great but one verse doesn't make a song.

name wrote:If not Sixteen then its either Super Rich Kids or Theraflu. But Sixteen shits everything really, you don't have to download the album just go in YouTube and listen to it.

Theraflu :flutter: But seriously, check Goodbye. When great rappers want to make you feel their pain, they obviously will.

Check it. It's amazing.

name wrote:Not one verse tbh, everything about that song, Rick Ross' verse too was fire "when people labeled me poor it motivated me more" its filled with great lyrics, the beat, the bridge at the end and the idea of the title. Its a masterpiece. And Rick Ross album is my rap album of the year so far inb4ActII.

Off to listen to Goodbye will leave my thoughts in its dedicated thread.

The Idea was great. The beat was alright. Andre 3000 is one of the most elite Mc's in the game at the moment. The bridge was good... at best.

But that song is NOT album of the year for me. Both of them failed to utilise the long verses to create a truly flowing/ coherent verse. It just was choppy and jumpy from time to time. I find Play the Guitar verse/ Interlude >>>>. The guitar solo by Andre AWFUL!! I was looking forward to it and i'm not one to just blindly hate but that song DRAGS on instead of building/ maintaining its intensity. tbqfh, i prefer Lil wayne's verse on No Love to both verses.

At Lello- you back to the fanboy shit lol How the fuck can wildboy > Hip hop?!!! You high nigga? Hands on the Wheel- Asap Rocky? You staright? John Connor is given credit for revisiting old Eminem beats AND ideas and re-interpreting them but hip-hop isnt? Dizzy Wright with 8 tracks  BOTH OF US :o :facepalm That beat is clanking and unsmooth. The hook by Taylor swift is generic as fuck. B.o.B verses are good at best.

Look, I love alot of the artists you put up but i really think that you are not giving this track its just due. The Beat is by J.U.S.T.I.C.E league... maybe we have become to accustomed to their sound that people are not giving just credit. People did incorporate orchestra sounds in their music but J.U.S.T.I.C.E league make it sound less like a beat but more like a cinema score. Khlaed was on point when he said it sounded like a hip-hop movie.

The cast alone by being there already make it legendary. Premier, Nas is legendary. like Jada said this is "bringing Scarface back" and elite Mc not getting much attention. Khaled- best compilation Dj in the history of rap (yeah fuckers, challenge me to that boy).

The lyrics bra.

And she took me from my girl powder
I doubt I’ll ever be the same, hallowed be thy name
Give me strength so I don’t do this dame like Orenthal James

/dead!!! What can you say after that? how fucking dense and true and crazy and provocative and. Did you see Scarface when he heard that line?

She menstruates weekly, her Vibe covers keep you warm
But the Source to her heart is love, word up, right on
You know how girls are, she love when you licking on her World Star
Kissing on her belly, trick on her and onyx
Confused fans think that she illuminates demonic

Who's said anything remotely close to that? Everyone was talking about other Mc or their relation with hip-hop but Nas incorporated other elements of the culture and just elevated the verse.

Man, i could go on the whole day but lets just say... maybe you ENJOY those songs you listed more but in terms of relative objectivity (imagine you were an XXl editor to understand unlike the commonly held notion everything is opinion) There are no more than 10 tracks that compete with it. Power Circle MMG being one of them.
Songs of the year
