Listening to 'Recovery'...

Postby EminemBase » Aug 10th, '12, 11:31

...And once again it sounds fresh and badass.

"Cold Wind Blows" is the-fucking-shit.

I always think of 'bad production' when I think of this album but then when I actually listen to it through, basically every track is banging...

It's like Eminem on steroids; in every aspect.

I do love this album actually. It's still hard to rate in my head but, all I know is, I enjoy listening to it a lot, I enjoy hearing basically every song. They still feel fresh.

I Always Enjoy Recovery when im Listening to it but Whenever i dont listen to recovery for a long time(3 or 4 Months) i tend to develop a perception that its a weak effort and has no replay value. But when i go back to listening to it im like "Fuck This is THE shit, i take back my words." it sounds monstrous and epic and always pumps me up. The majority of the hate for it is due to the bandwagon thing

Lol this album is dope, which is why it pisses me off when the YouTube comments on Drug Ballad or whatever are like "Recovery fans suck."

That's why I avoid reading comments on old Eminem songs.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

I definitely agree. :y:

It really is a great album and gets far too much shit just because it sounds more mainstream than the rest of his albums. But mainstream doesn't equal bad if it's done right, and Em did it right. With that said though, I hope that his next album is NOTHING like it.

I think some people are annoyed over the kids who became fans after Recovery, and can't name many Em songs besides not Afraid and Lose Yourself. For what it's worth.

i honestly dont even notice the negative shit such as the poppy beats, and features.
Its a legit album, goes great with a bowl of weed. I bumped it raw then and i still do now.

word up, i actually heard the album for a week before i came here to read users comments as to avoid anything from distracting my initial opinion

I'm curious as to why did she think it wasn't him? Did she think it was a bad song?

My oldest brother grew up as a huge stan of Eminem, and she was used to hearing the ol' Shady raps. I also don't think she recognized his new voice.

Front to back, back to front, in between and upside-fucking-down, this album is pure fire. It's incredible.

The lyrics, the beats, the emotion, the delivery, the hooks... just literally everything about this album is awesome. There isn't anything I hate about it, tbh. Aside from the Lil Wayne feature, but I always fast forward through his shitty verse. It's Lil Wayne, it doesn't count.

I'm still not the biggest fan of Talkin' To Myself (which I find to be a bit boring) or Won't Back Down (the production IS bad and the whole extension cord/"fuck my dick's big" line makes me cringe). I guess that's the problem I have with Recovery...there are a lot of great songs polluted with bad lines. I still rate the album about an 8-8.5/10, so I'm not knocking it, I just can't help but think it could be better. That's what bothers me about Recovery.

I still bump it all the time, I love Cold Wind Blows, No Love, So Bad, 25 to Life, Almost Famous.
