For me a Classic needs to be revolutionary, something that can be identified with for years to come, sets a new standard. I don't have many albums that I consider classics so I am not dissing Relapse when I say I think it is not a classic. The concept was great, the togetherness of the album in terms of actually telling a story was great although I still believe it was somewhat executed poorly. Would never be a classic for me but I still consider this route in terms of production, rhyme schemes, flow to be the best one he has taken out of Relapse/Recover/HTS.
It actually felt like an album, too bad I found some songs to be filler. I know he had to take the Recovery route and I did enjoy Recovery but I will never understand why he decided to go with so many weak producers for it. (Outside of Havoc and Dre).
