You say that like Recovery was full of them or something lmao. Collaborates with Pink, Rihanna, and Bruno Mars and now he's suddenly "collaborating with pop stars?" Okkkkay

he never said anything about recovery :D no but seriously he's doing too much shit with shitty pop artists or pop artists in general. i mean on recovery you had pink, rihanna, you had that guy from talking to myself, who actually is an R'n'B artist but still ... you've got the girl on almost famous, the girl on 25 to life, and space bound !
i think i forgot someone but it doesnt matter xD the thing is, for my taste he's just doing to much with the people or the genre he hated in the first place. and yeaaah i know, he's a grown man know and back then he was shady, but still, you just dont diss people like spears just to do a song with rihanna and even worse bruno mars. am i saying all of these collabs were bad ? no ! i think that almost famous has one of the best hooks on recovery, but i just think that he's doing to much with them ...

So...anyone who sings is a pop star to you, then? You consider Liz Rodriguez to be a pop star? Skylar Grey? Kobe, you consider that guy Kobe to be a pop star too?

Pop =/= music with singing it it, lmao.

Lets face it guys, Em is an artist that has nothing more to say. he has nothing in or around him to turn to music.

I don't really like this complaint. He's done songs with pop artists before Recovery. Dido, anyone?

Pop =/= music with singing it it, lmao.

i wrote that i consider kobe as an R'n'B artist
ok maybe i didn't really write it like i meant to say it, i meant to say that it sounds to popish. for me kobe isn't rap that's why i think he is pop or like i said "popish" xD even though he's doing R'n'B, yeah sounds stupid i know xD and i do consider skylar grey to be a pop star. sure a different style maybe leaning more towards soul or something like this ...

I don't really like this complaint. He's done songs with pop artists before Recovery. Dido, anyone?

the thing is i there are songs where i think they fit like almost famous or stan ...

Eminem dissed people like Spears to stop the general public and critics broadly lumping him in with them; but that doesn't mean he hates all pop stars or anybody who can sing lmao. It was never personal beyond the occasional like Christina; it was just parodying pop-culture and pop figures (in each era) but he's had sung (pop-like vocalists) on hooks since The Slim Shady LP.

"Love the Way You Lie" wouldn't be what it is artistically (irrespective of anything else) without Rihanna. Quite obviously the effect of having her on it was bound to result in huge commercial success; but why do you think it's specifically about domestic violence? Rihannna is perhaps the most public victim of it in recent years, putting her on that hook like that, and presenting that song how it's presented (visually, but also how it's written, and the intensity) was a genius move; comparable to him performing with Elton in front of GLAAD at the 2001 Grammys.

I agree about Bruno Mars (that hook is embarrassing, and it's just to make a hit) but Rihanna was a real collaboration; there's a reason it has to be her, on that song. So in no way am I unhappy with or do I think he compromised with that song, it's brilliant.

But aside from that, yeah he is letting other people do too many of his hooks (and beats) now; but that was only really for Recovery, and it was different, so let's just see what he does next.

The worst influences on Eminem were the idiotic rap fans on the internet. Somebody told Eminem what the Lil Wayne/Kanye/Drake fanboys and fangirls thought of Relapse, and he listened to the criticism.

I think the double time flow is just him trying to hide the fact that he's copying shitty modern rappers.

Definitely.

Too bad threads like this and comments such as yours,Revolutionary and Menzo will never be heard by Em.

Shame really, because Recovery with the correct production (Dre, Em just simple melodies) always had the power to be a classic. I rate Relapse above Recovery because although Relapse had flaws in the story/concept execution the production was excellent it complimented his flow and the rhyming was great. Just had a few tracks that I felt were very meh/filler for the concept he was aiming. It did feel like an Album though, tracks felt like they connected with one another (Because they did the majority of the time).

Agree on the So Bad comment by Menzo, it is still one of my favorite tracks on Recovery for that exact reason, it actually sounds like an Eminem track. It is not the best written track on Recovery but it is one of the most enjoyable.

Eminem made a lot of beats between 05-08, he even admits that he was actually creating beats more than recording at that time period.

Will add a final point that "I Hear Them Calling" Track Produced by Eminem featuring Kid Cudi would have had Trshady jizzing to an extreme level. That beat :flutter:

100% agree with you hear. I've got a feeling he's going to go back to basics with this new record.

Yeah, thats true. I just guess we're going to get an album which hasn't gone in a new direction (if thats makes sense).
Like Relapse was his re-introduction and then Recovery was the outcome of him re-evaluating Relapse 2 and trying something new so I guess the third album after Em's hiatus is going to sound like a more comfortable Em. Like he's already got everything he wanted to say off his chest.
That doesn't really make sense... ahhh fuck it

Eminem's raps are still sick in his songs, but i liked when he did his own chorus' and shit, and theres just something missing in his new music, its just not the same
Let your hair down to the track, yeah kick on back
Boo!, the boogie monster of rap, yeah the man's back
