Eminem dissed people like Spears to stop the general public and critics broadly lumping him in with them; but that doesn't mean he hates all pop stars or anybody who can sing lmao. It was never personal beyond the occasional like Christina; it was just parodying pop-culture and pop figures (in each era) but he's had sung (pop-like vocalists) on hooks since
The Slim Shady LP.
"Love the Way You Lie" wouldn't be what it is
artistically (irrespective of anything else) without Rihanna. Quite obviously the effect of having her on it was bound to result in huge commercial success; but why do you think it's specifically about domestic violence? Rihannna is perhaps the most public victim of it in recent years, putting her on that hook like that, and presenting that song how it's presented (visually, but also how it's written, and the intensity) was a genius move; comparable to him performing with Elton in front of GLAAD at the 2001 Grammys.
I agree about Bruno Mars (that hook is embarrassing, and it's just to make a hit) but Rihanna was a real collaboration; there's a reason it has to be her, on that song. So in no way am I unhappy with or do I think he compromised with that song, it's brilliant.
But aside from that, yeah he is letting other people do too many of his hooks (and beats) now; but that was only really for
Recovery, and it was different, so let's just see what he does next.
