Right now, I believe Kendrick is better than Eminem. In terms of lyrics, delivery, flow, hooks, whatever.

First week US sales:

Devil's Night: 372,000
D12 World: 544,000

I'm pretty sure Black Hippy can surpass those numbers, but I don't want to see Black Hippy end up like D12. I don't want Kendrick to get all the shine while the other members are left in his shadow, sort of like what happened with D12.

But you are crazy if you think they'll do these kind of numbers. Kendrick won't ever push 200k or more.

If J. Cole can push 200k, so can Kendrick. ESP. with a GaGa feature, all his MAJOR co-signs, and Swimming Pools (Drank) which is doing pretty good for his first solo single. However, I don't know if Soulo, Q, or Jay will push those numbers. They most likely won't.

But Rick Ross doesn't have a hit record, he gets most of his sales from albums. Anyway, he doesn't have the followings that K.Dot has: A GaGa feature, Dr. Dre backin him with Eminem & 50 Cent in his pocket (if they are in Dre's pocket they are also in Kendrick's), J Cole collaboration album, co-signs EVERYWHERE (even beyond hip-hop). Swimming Pools (Drank) is doing better than any single Rick Ross has out currently on iTunes. Also, J. Cole did 200k and Drake did 700k first week, I'm sure Kendrick will be in between.

No fucking way. Take a look at the Social Networks. Twitter, Facebook, Youtube.. J.Cole is really more popular.

Mgk and Kendrick almost have the same amount of followers/facebook likes. Different fanbase/audience, i agree. But still.. And MGK had Wild Boy, which was bigger than any K.dot single.

And I'm not sure even he will reach 100 000 let alone 200 000.

Kenny has nearly 396K followers on Facebook, MGK has 641K. Using "almost" is a huge exaggeration. And of course "Wild Boy" was bigger than any Kenny single because MGK was already signed to Interscope by the time Kendrick dropped Section.80, not to mention Waka Flocka was on that song, another rapper that garners a lot of attention. If you look at the track listing for Section.80 you'll see no big names, it's all him, Schoolboy and Ab-Soul.

And I'm not sure even he will reach 100 000 let alone 200 000.

I don't know why you're so doubtful, don't let your hate for Kendrick blind you. With Dre's help, the dude will definitely break 100K, hopefully surpassing 200K.

I understand that, but keep in mind you are seeing his popularity, AFTER, his album dropped compared to a Kendrick Lamar with no commercial debut out. I remember looking at J. Cole's amount of twitter followers when Cole World dropped because I planned to use that information to gage Radioactive's sales about a years ago. J Cole was at 300K followers on twitter plus whatever promotions he got from Def Jam/Roc Nation and Jay-Z. Kendrick Lamar is currently at 500k with no commercial debut album, the potential is there. All Kendrick Lamar needs is a hit and good promotion and then he might get 200k sold first week. I'm not being completely unrealistic.

I wouldn't say Slaughterhouse is conceptual except for "Asylum." They are definitely a representation of being lyrical, on their first album anyway.

D12 was a balance between lyrical and content though, unlike what Slaughterhouse has created with their new album. D12 just did it better. But back to Black Hippy. I'd say they are lyrical and conceptual. They also display a great chemistry and really experiment sonically. They also blend their different personalities into their group to attack a subject from four or more angles. That's probably what I love most about their best tracks together. They can also be funny, they really just get a large range of emotions. That's what Eminem did well, that D12 attempted to create. They came close, but were very limited in their mic presence as a whole.

200k would be awesome but I'd be thrilled for anything over 100k. The difference between Cole and Kendrick (as far as popularity) is that Cole's voice more more appealing to the average listeners than Kendricks imo.
