I feel the same. Takeover has the better production despite being a complete bite off the original song so to speak and is lyrically better constructed. First verse builds up nicely to the last two and makes you hungry for more where as Ether seems a little loosely put together. I just can't believe Jay-Z didn't recognize It was written as a classic or at least as a good album.

No doubt Ether is the better diss overall. As a song it isn't but line for line Nas' attacks just seem vicious. Also this came out at a time when Nas just seemed dead and gone.

I could do without both of the song's chilidish gay references though...
