Tyler, The Creator Appreciation

Postby EarlShady » Sep 13th, '12, 16:22

I'm new to this site but I find it weird there isn't a lot of Odd Future appreciation considering both Tyler and Earl are greatly influenced by Eminem. Tyler even met Eminem and told him Relapse was one of his favorite albums. Odd Future definitely have a different sound than Em, but you can hear the influence just like In Hopsin. Hopsin really only dissed Tyler cause hes an atheist and Hopsin all religious all the sudden and spreading the word of god in almost every post he makes on facebook. I love Hopsin, don't get me wrong I just think hes starting beef just cause Tyler's anti religious and gets more buzz then him.

Tyler's first two albums even remind me a lot of Eminem's first two albums in the way he progresses as an artist. Bastard continues into Goblin the way the SSLP continues into the MMLP, not to say that Tyler's albums are as good as Em's, I'm just making a comparison. For me Em lost what made him so cool to me when I first heard him, that I Just Don't Give A Fuck attitude that felt so real in him. He didin't seem gimmicky rebellious like punk bands or Pink, he actually pulled it off. No artist in my opinion has been able to pull that off since The Marshall Mathers L.P. When I heard Goblin for the first time and the track Yonkers where he says "what you think of Hallie Williams, fuck her Wolf Haley robbing them, I'll crash that fucking airplane that dat faggot nigga Bob was in, stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus and wont stop until the cops come in", I was instantly reminded of Eminem. I just want to know what people on this site feel towards Tyler, The Creator and Odd Future as a whole

I actually prefer Goblin over Bastard too, Its a much more complete album, Bastard is more lyrical though.

I prefer "Bastard" over "Goblin", but as whole albums, Goblin takes the cake.

How can hip-hop be dead if Wu-Tang is forever?
