agree with you

In my opinion, I can't see royce fucking with Em' when he's at his best level
Royce can be a great lyricist, he can give us a good flow but I rly think he isn't that charismatic.
He doesn't have that little thing that other great artists have and I believe he'll always stay that little shady records artist

Royce is often doing great freestyles but even if his content is deeper, ppl want to hear the original versions, even if the rap part sucks or whatever...
I liked his freestyle over the forever's beat but at the end of the day, I keep the original song and royce's song is in the bin. We're talking about "music" and for me, Royce doesn't have what he needs to become "THE" artist or "THE" hip hop artist. :sweating:

I think he gaves his best on hell the sequel but fortunately, there was eminem on the album because I really can't imagine that album with only royce on it.
If you ask me, his place is in a group, he's cool in solo but not that interesting :/
I don't know why but it seems that Eminem has a positive effect on him ( when they are on the same song)

A lot of artists can give his best but I can't see most of them having a great solo carreer ; most of the village people from Good music( say thx to jay or kanye to be featured on ur songs, most of the g-unit members (say thx to 50 cent), Slaughter House members...

I think he did pretty well on H:TS, Em mostly had better verses for me purely due to the fact Royce often tries to imitate or do similar humour to Em's but because he doesn't do it naturally and is trying to employ it as a style, it sounds forced; nearly all of Royce's wit falls flat for me.

He's still nowhere near the creative mind that Em is, even when Em's at his most simplistic; Em just has a flair and style that is very unique, and Royce would admit that; he's said himself that he's gotten most of his flow ideas etc. from listening to Em.

Where as with Em, even with corny as fuck puns... he still hits the mark of what he's attempting, and humour has always been a part of his style, it's just naturally him, so doesn't sound off.

Back in the original BME days, Royce was actually solidly witty in terms of coming out with some clever sarcasm and lines and keeping up with Em. He never had BETTER lines in my opinion, but he could certainly hang with Em, and was never slaughtered.

On H:TS, Royce out-raps Em on "Fast Lane", on the second verse, but you could say they were going for different objectives; Royce said himself that he heard Em's first verse and then did that, as he felt like he was being out-classed, and there's some spots on "Welcome 2 Hell" where he's very impressive too, but it's pretty much neck-and-neck to me.

I dunno if Royce gave his all... but he was a lot better on H:TS than on the SH album I think. I've found nearly all of his recent performances falling flat as fuck, and often being incredibly lazy. He keeps trying to just be cocky to justify bad or... no decent rapping aka the 'scream at the end of the verse' part on "Coffin" but it just doesn't work.

He said that he writes very fast, and I think lately he's believing his own hype too much and thinking he can just knock out verse after verse like it's nothing and that they're all classic, but almost every other line I hear from him now is throwaway or meh.

Idk... sometimes I think he gave it all...I mean Royce drools over the thought of popularity and here he is with the biggest artist on the planet. But then again.. when I hear him on lighters im like wtf. Seriously a really bad verse and his intro was awful. Idk why he has been talking over the beat so much lately but it sounds like shit.

This. Royce and Em is a killer combo, I'll be disappointed if Royce isn't on Em's next album. His verses on H:TS proved he could hang with the best. He's a lot better on Hell: The Sequel than on Welcome to: Our House.

Yeah, he's really not that innovative/creative with his stuff to be a great artist.

He's one of the best rappers I've ever heard though :flutter:

Royce rapped his ass off on Hell: The Sequel.

If you look at message boards that AREN'T dedicated to guzzling Eminem's semen, you'll see that the majority of people thought Royce killed it - not just keeping up with Em, but surpassed him on quite a few songs, and inspiring Eminem to step up his bars.

Eminem isn't the rapper he once was. Most of his verses now are overly wordy desperate sub-Twista fast rap about "I hate you, girl" with cringeworthy hashtag facepalm punchlines. Yeah, Em can still spit...but he's by no means an untouchable MC these days.

I agree Royce has been coasting since Hell: The Sequel. But his hook game keeps getting better and he's still great at kicking off a song.
