take that energy and focus on making your own life a little better

Smart people dislike dumb people because dumb people make smart people suffer from their dumbness. The sad truth is, most people aren't going to achieve great things. Too dumb. They are just going to be manipulated by smart people to do things that will piss off other smart people that are too smart to be manipulated by other smart people.

There are other reasons why people are hateful though. For one, hating someone else certainly makes yourself feel a little better. Some people get ego trips through intellectually pwning dumb people on forums. They need the validation from other smart people, which increases their sense of self-importance.

Dumb people are just here to get their social acceptance juices flowin'. They feel involved in a community, and because we are social animals that crave interaction and acceptance, they like it.. and stay. The good feelings from being accepted overpower the sadness from getting intellectually curb-stomped. There is a delicate balance. One smarty for every ten dumbos.
