Can we officially rule out a 2012 album?

Postby Mr. Porter » Oct 1st, '12, 17:36

I was holding on hope that we would get an Eminem album by the end of the year, but now I think I have to officially throw in the towel and hope for a 2013 one instead.

This tbh. I remember Not Afraid came out like at the very end of April 2010...then Recovery was released like 6 weeks later. A mid-December album MIGHT still be possible.

I want him to announce that his album will be released summer 2013 next month so we can be properly hyped.

2012 eh? You can be lucky very lucky as a matter of fact if he releases it in late 2013. It's more likely mid 2014. It takes 6-8 months to promote an album. Plus you still have to wait for Detox, 50 cent's album, and more from shady records. Plus, you don't know if he's done. He might scrap the whole album like he did with Relapse 2.

I still have a sliver of hope that he announces it this month and releases it in December. But, yes, early to mid 2013 is likely.

How many times do we have to get it through your head that it doesn't take that long for him to promote an album?

Plus you still have to wait for Detox

Probably not, maybe a single arou d December, or a little mix tape thing like Refill was, but it's a bit late for a whole album, based by that the only info we have is that he's just "working on it". When NA came out we had Despicable and a few other verses before Recovery, we knew he scrapped Relapse 2 and went a whole other direction. Right now we don't know ANYTHING about it, just that he's "working on it".

It could be possible, but very very doubtful. They'd wanna hype up the single like how they did with NA (Despicable freestyle hyped him up, plus before NA came out we knew he was releasing a single, we just didn't know when.) they'd hype it up first.

My guess is maybe a single in November - Janurary (probably around December - Janurary but eh) then an actual album around May or so.

You guys forgot that Eminem needs to create anticipation. He likes to make us wait to get excited. He will probably release some freestyles, so all these things delay it. Look how long detox been delayed

If a single comes out this month it's definitely dropping December-January. If not, I'd say Q1 2013.

There is not a chance a single is coming out this month or soon

That's what I mean, before ANY single Iis released he's gonna have some type of freestyle before the single, to get hype for it.

I'm having a relapse -> Crack A Bottle(final version), 3AM, We Made You

Despicable -> NA

That's how he works, he's gonna release some freestyle first, wait for the freestyle then for the single.

If the freestyle drops late this month, then the single might come November - December, then the album not long after.

I think he should just drop an album next week out of nowhere. That would be badass.

It's not up to him it's up to Interscope. Remember after Relapse came out? We thought we would get an album right away and it took a year or two

I don't think there's any chance of the album by then, and I don't think a single either.

I'm guessing mid 2013.

One year, and that was because instead of using the album he already had, he created another one. Next year, for sure. Certainly not 2014.

And quit bringing up Detox like it's the same situation. It's not. Detox has been delayed for like a decade now, because Dre isn't ever going to put it out. Interscope will release Eminem albums as quickly as they get them, because they know that they will sell. If you stretch out a promotion campaign for 2 years, people will lose interest, and it would be pointless since Eminem is ridiculously well known anyway.

Albums aren't held in vaults long enough for the sound to be dated by the time they're released, especially with hip hop. If they are announced and then disappear for years, it's because they don't have a finished product.

Things doesn't work that way. Before dropping an album, they release a single. And that usually happens 2 months before. We are in October and there is no single in the way right now. So no way there will be an album in 2012.
