Him not being your thing and him actually being bad are two different things. Wish most would realize this.

Basically he is the type your either love or hate. You either connect with him or you don't. This guy has a huge fan base for a reason. It's very cult like too.

@ Menzo. Just listen to the Lace Up mixtape from top to bottom is what I'd suggest to do. And see if he is your thing or not. I'll tell you now though he isn't very lyrical nor tries to be.

Maybe that's why I don't like him. He's not lyrical enough for me. But, I could have past judgment on him to quick too. If that Lace Up mixtape is his good shit, I'll take a listen to it and give him a 2nd chance.

I agree that the Lace Up mixtape is the place to start. But if you want to see him in a very "unvarnished" state -- way before he ever signed a deal (or dreamed it possible), I'd try here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhXM-3YSaiQ It is one of my favorites. Everyone thinks that it was rehearsed but it wasn't. It is not an "off the top" freestyle, he'd done it before (or something close), but never over this beat and never with the vocalist who is in the video. Dope.

I used to have things quoted before, but people never understood that opinions change and I was labelled a dick-rider, a bandwagon jumper etc... people have changed their minds over 100000 times on this site, yet only I got flamed for it.... can you give us links ? coz on the boards I often visit, I can't see a lot of love for that album. In fact, trshady is the only board where I could read rly positive comments about lace up. (except the guys who are fans shince the bigining of course)
