Looking at this objectively I don't see how Wu Tang isn't everyones choice. They have the largest and most consistent discography (by far) and have a bunch of great albums. Not to mention all of the classic albums released by the individual members (although kind of irrelevant here).

Slaughterhouse has released two pretty lackluster albums, D12 released one good album and one pretty bad one, and Black Hippy doesn't even have an album out lol.

Subjectively you can choose whoever you want, but objectively Wu Tang has a FAR better discography than the other groups.

Also looking at albums each group member has released, Liquid Swords, OB4CL1/2, Supreme Clientele, Ironman, Fishscale.. idk man the answer seems obvious. Shouldn't have added Wu Tang to this.

I think it's their subject matter that makes me think they're terrible.

I listened to some of Slaughterhouse and the only songs I liked were "Microphone" and "The One", mainly because of their beats though.

Slaughterhouse just seems like another typical rap group that aren't bringing anything new to the table.

It's all good. I still think Wu Tang is the best rap group out of these 4, and D12 at the end. Even though Devil's Night was a classic.

Slaughterhouse as a group are boring as hell. Joe is the only GREAT rapper in the group but even he is lackluster when working with them.

Crooked I is NOT a good lyricist. He's the definition of lyrical miracle which is NOT hard to do, and his punchlines are usually pretty bad.. Not to mention he can't write a song to save his life lol. Royce is pretty meh, especially in the group. He used to be pretty good but he seems very lazy lately and is a bad influence on Eminem and Joe Budden imo. Joell can be good but isn't a top tier lyricist like you guys are portraying.

D12 had one excellent rapper (who isn't excellent anymore), three that are usually pretty average but have the potential to write good verses, and the worst rapper of all time. Why exactly are they a good rap group? Devils Night is good because of Eminem lol.

It takes one thing to blow up as a result of another rapper's success, but it's another to actually be able to capture the essence of every song from any concept - that's the main thing people seem to ignore. Did they follow Eminem's image? Yes and no, D12 is very Slim Shady-esque but that's because D12 practically made Slim Shady. But D12 can deliver songs from goofy comedic tracks to sad introspective tracks to serious subject matter tracks to lyrical miracle tracks to disses to...anything.

So yes, D12 and their albums are good because Eminem's influence is evident but that doesn't take away from the fact that they're all able to individually slip into the right mindstate and not sound awkward as fuck on particular tracks - like Crooked I on "Asylum", he sounds excruciatingly painful and out of place or Joe Budden on a track like "Throw That".

That's why I love and respect D12 immensely. Using their most successful member as an excuse to deduce their music is lame, almost every group gets further recognition cuz one particular member tends to be the standout poster child.

I'm not talking about D12's style being similar to Eminem's, I'm saying that the album is as good as it is because Eminem was in his prime and his verses/hooks are all pretty great. The production is also pretty good. That's pretty much it.. It'd be much better if that fat faggot wasn't on it though. Seriously he's the worst rapper of all time. His skill level is similar to Soulja Boy's but his content is much, much worse.
