Tyler had told Em personally that Relapse is one of the greatest album to him.
There's a chance many other fans(or Rappers) who met Eminem personally would've told Relapse was a dope record. So yeah, Em might be knowing that not Everyone hates relapse and some find it to be CLASSIC.
but we cant say if he knows that his core fan base (TR) LOVES relapse a LOT and want relapse 2.

He's not that guy, of course. And there's nothing wrong with that. But it doesn't change the facts that lead me toward the answer I gave the OP. Out of all of the currently-relevant MC's, Eminem is of the least public.

And I know it's intentional because he's talked about it, and Paul had talked about it. He doesn't do an interview every week or tell you his every move because he likes to keep people guessing and to come out of nowhere, that's why he remains exciting.

But to say he's one of the least concerned when he scrapped Relapse 2, went in a mainstream direction with Recovery and apologized about his last album in his own music, to listeners... that's absurd. I'd say he's overly concerned right now, and I don't like it.

The best artists make art for them and whoever likes it likes it.

Em is one of the least public yes, but that's because he's all about the work. And I love it that way. I wouldn't want Em to be giving his opinion on hip-hop every week, telling us what his next sound will be like all the time, bragging, we got everybody else doing that. Em is fun to follow because there's so little to follow, so it's like "wtf is he doing, what's he gonna do next?" = key to sustained mystery.

I don't think the majority of his fans want Relapse 2 i mean by this i mean he has close to a 100 million fans if not more worldwide and most disliked Relapse. Of course there is some fans that do want Relapse 2 but they would be the minority in the grand scheme of things. Also just cos theres some fans that do want Relapse 2 it doesn't matter he should release the music he wants to and is happy with not what some fans would like.

Wouldn't what you said be a contradiction than? cos if you saying he should make art for himself and who ever likes it, likes it then why should he release a Relapse 2 type of album just cos some fans wanna hear it? that means he just doing something some fans wanna hear and contradicts your statement

Nope it wouldn't be a contradiction. Because I'm not saying Eminem should let me hear Relapse 2 because I wanna hear it. I'm saying I would like to hear it, and if he ever released it because HE wanted to, that'd be awesome. On no level do I want him to listen to anyone's views, including mine.

So no, no contradiction there. A consistent viewpoint, inclusive of my own opinions.

I'd argue that it's exciting if the suspense is well kept. But there's a fine line between suspense and leaving the god damn building for years at a time.

I didn't say he wasn't concerned. Don't get me twisted up. The question was weather or not Em is aware of how the fans feel about Relapse/Relapse 2. And given that the general consensus is that Relapse was brilliant, and we haven't heard any Relapse-esque material since, I have to say no.

That's just not true. I'm not gonna write a paragraph on it. It just isn't. In fact I'd argue that it's easier to be public when work is getting done. But again, Em isn't that person to begin with.

Most of my friends and people I know from my city are not em fans like us but each and everyone of them loved relapse and want to hear relapse 2.

But a few people you know doesn't take away from the majority who didn't like Relapse because of it's subject matter, theme, accent with the exception of Beautiful and Deja Vu songs that people who didn't like the album liked those 2 songs and wanted basically songs like that on that album.


Most Eminem fans like his introspective music the heart felt material and this is a great amount of people since his fan base so big, the people that liked a Shady Relapse type of material always been the minority
