Albums you'd recommend for catching up with hip hop

Postby yoshi » Sep 19th, '12, 19:40

Aight, so it's been a while since I've listened to anything new.. Last album that REALLY impressed me was probably "Oneirology" by Cunninlynguists.. And obviously, "Life Is Good" by Nas. Apart from that, I haven't really listened to american hip hop, I've been bumping Polish stuff for a while now. Although today I've found myself playing "What You Know" by T.I. on repeat..

So is there anything good that you guys would recommend me?

And please, no Drake (I'm allergic to anyone who recorded with Rihanna, Eminem really disappointed me), Nicki Minaj or any other dipshit that made me lose faith in society back in the days.

Thanks :flower:

Talib Kweli released a new mix tape if you hadn't heard that. I know you love him.

and Skyzoo.. I've only heard him on one track by Statik Selektah, liked it so I might check it out if you say it's good.

Joey Bada$s is only like 18 and he's already becoming big. His mixtape 1999 is dope as fuck, so old school..

Didnt T.I work with Rihanna? :confusion:

lol, anyways Im with Trimss, Joey Badass is amazing!! Some says he's unoriginal because he's recycling that "90s style" but wow, his mixtape was just... :flutter:

Also, a recent group Ive just discovered is The Four Owls. you should check them out.

The best album of 2010 IMO. This album was miles ahead of that year  Then "Section.80" in 2011 and "Control System" in 2012.

Trophies - Apollo Brown & O.C.
Common - The Dreamer, The Believer
Saigon - The Greatest Story Never Told
Reks - Revelutionary
