I have a question for you, is it true Jay Z bites rhymes?

if by biting you mean taking other peoples lyrics and claiming that he wrote them, then no.

How do you explain this Accor?

Nas first asked “how much of Biggie’s rhymes is gonna come out your fat lips?” on meme diss track “Ether”

Biggie on “Kick in the Door”:

Your reign on the top was short like leprechauns
As I crush so-called Willies, thugs and rapper dons

Jay-Z on “The Ruler’s Back”:
Your reign on the top was shorter than leprechauns
You can’t fuck with Hov, what kind of X you on?

Biggie on “You’re Nobody Till Somebody Kills You” (Jay must really like this song!):

Stop your blood-clot crying
The kids, the dog, everybody dying, no lying

Jay-Z bites unaltered on “D.O.A.”:
Stop your blood-clot crying
The kid, the dog, everybody dying, no lying

As well check out Camron's diss to Jay Z,

The key part of Accor's response was "and claiming he wrote them." Jay-Z would never claim that he wrote those lines and says that he's only paying homage to Biggie.

Jay-Z still has that reputation though, can't blame bigray for saying it.

Jay-Z is an over-hyped, over-saturated, artist.

Definitely not.

I'm not the biggest Jay fan but Reasonable Doubt > anything 50 has done or will ever do.

50 Cent can barely even be called a rapper. He's a gangsta that half-sings hooks and talks about his money, Jay does the same, but he's capable of doing it well.

nowadays everybody talks about their money, and yet they are rappers ?

and grodt > anything jay has done or will ever do.

grodt is quality, but its about 200 years away from Reasonable Doubt in every way from the beats to the lyrics. Grodt is more consistent than any other Jay-Z album though; also you cant use Jay's generic money/hoe talk against him when 50 does that waaaaay more.

Also, to the homage folks, was Jay paying tribute to Ice-T when he took the line "99 problems but a bitch ain't one"? Jay takes a lot of lines that aren't well known or iconic in anyway from various arists; that is not paying tribute its biting. Saying something like "Get a grip motherfucker" is paying tribute, not "your reign on top was shorter than leprechauns". That fact that hes paraphrasing most of them to make them a little different proves it isnt paying tribute, though this is not always true. Its not a big deal though, most Led Zeppelin songs completely rip off other artists (with some adjustments), even Stairway to Heaven had its open section ripped off an obscure band they were touring with.

But if he was biting he would have claimed to write those lyrics lol. He's said that he was paying homage and there's no reason to believe otherwise :s

Well ok them.. Though I'm sure he was claiming he wrote them until Nas released the diss.

Consensus goat though??????? Seriously? You realize that only exists on Kanye boards right? Most of Jay's discography is complete ass. Would a GOAT create: Volumes 2 & 3, the dynasty, Blueprint 2, Kingdom Come, and Blueprint 3? These albums have very few good tracks and no redeeming qualities in terms of substance, lyricism, or creativity.

Who would you say the goat is? I browse a bunch of boards (KTT is the only Kanye board I go on lol) and the majority of posters hold Jay in high regards. His albums are inconsistent, but as a RAPPER I think the majority will agree. He has like 4 classics in his discography as well so yeah. Idk, his discography is much better than Tupacs and he's the second most popular rapper and one of the most critically acclaimed artists of all time so yeah lol.

For the record I don't think Jay-Z is the goat I just think the majority of rap fans do.
