Title says it all. Which album you think is better? Feel free to debate and such.

Personally, I say GKMC...I know many people will not agree but I LOVE GKMC.

What's the point in waiting? If I didn't do it someone else was going to do it by the weekend.

Because your first impressions are usually exaggerated one way or another. Let it sink in. You might feel differently in a week.

You can close this thread then until you feel it's time to open it back up. How about that?

Section.80 no doubt. I heard the GKMC snippets. Those beats are so fucking boring it's not even funny.

I'm not going to make any decision at the moment, but I'd just like to say a little something.

Section.80 was a grower. The large sentiment I felt from most people is that at first, they thought it was boring and it was only after further listens that it became the near-classic it is. good kid, m.A.A.d city is designed to grab you from the first listen. A debut on a major label can't be a grower, there's too many risks.

Section.80 also has a more consistent sound. It was created for one concept, and that concept alone. GKMC is based around Kendrick's life. It doesn't sound consistent, but life isn't consistent anyway.

The difficulty of comparing these two albums is that they're two entirely different beasts. I feel it would be better if we just let them co-exist as the classics (yeah, I'm calling GKMC a classic) that they are.

GKMC had better beats and it's not even close.

30 second snippets of 5-12 minute songs are always good means for making a judgement.

from the snippets, i thought the album was going to be boring also...i was wrong. the story that the album as a whole tells is amazing. just like section.80, GKMC's story is so fully developed it could just be one long song. beat, flow and voice changes in the middle of songs are done perfectly and only add to the songs (see cruel summer for beat changes that are not done well). actively listening to this album all the way through 2-3 times has been amazing and i am completely hooked. hopefully my opinions dont change with the coming weeks but i dont think they will. great album.

if you take into account the fact that it says 'a short film by kendrick lamar' you can tell thats what he was going for and he pulled it off perfectly. he should make a real movie tbh
