No it doesn't.

Have you even listened to the album?

Yes it does.

great interview from aftermathmusic.com

Kendrick Lamar Talks Shyne’s Critique, 1st Week Sales Predictions & Making A “Classic”

Kendrick Lamar is riding on Cloud 9. With his “good kid, m.A.A.d city” debut finally in stores, and doing shows all over the place, the 25-year-old has lots to celebrate, and he’s not going to let a negative critique from Shyne, kill his mood.

“It’s really no response [to him],” Lamar tells Hip-Hop Wired. “I’m not a sensitive guy, so that’s his opinion. Can’t stop what the world thinks, so yeah, that’s him.”

With first week sale predictions flying above the 200K range, the Compton native is humbled by the support. “It feels great, lets me know that people still wanna’ hear good music, real music. Music that has a connection, rather than just one artist, or one record on the radio.”

Even though some have already pegged his first album a classic, Lamar feels that it’s too soon to wear such a heavy crown. “The attention and great reception it’s been getting… it’s overwhelming. People are labeling this a classic even without the years behind it, so it’s a great feeling.”

But don’t get it twisted, his intention was to hit a home run. “It’s classic worthy, you know? But it has to stand with the time and have the years behind it. Right now it’s classic worthy and people [will] look back and say, ‘Kendrick’s first album really, really, really outdid everything else and became a classic.’ I went into it with intentions of making it a classic, so I’m glad everybody’s saying that now.”

Going into the latter half of the year Lamar plans on continuing to promote the project stateside, before heading to Europe.

Of course I've listened to the album, I bought the fuckin' album.

If you bought the fuckin' album then you'd know how great the fuckin' album is and how it's better than Em's shit.

Huh? I never directly said that Menzo was "wrong." I just said that it's the better album.

"GKMC is better than Recovery" =/= "No Menzo you're wrong"

"If you bought the fuckin' album then you'd know how great the fuckin' album is and how it's better than Em's shit." =/= "No Menzo you're wrong"

I think GKMC is better than Recovery, TES, Encore, Relapse. It's a helluva lot more consistent, coherent, production is through the roof, Kendrick's flow is hypnotizing, the story is amazing. Sue me.

No they couldn't have. That album is pretty much built off his crazy life experiences feeling like a show. It IS perfect. Look at the tracklist. Not a single subpar or average song. Individually they're amazing, and as an album they're very cohesive. It's production is top notch.

It doesn't feel like a show, quit overrating it. The skits at the beginning and end don't make it a show. Give the mic to another rapper whose had "crazy life experiences" and I'd bet he'd make the same product, probably even better.

Geno wrote:Not a single subpar or average song

Actually yeah, after a while they get pretty boring and sooner or later very forgettable. "When The Music Stops" is a COMPLETLEY AVERAGE song. "Say What You Say", pretty average as well. "Drips" & "Business", average as well. Not to mention the same songs mentioned are pretty forgettable.

Geno wrote:Quit acting like GKMC is perfect. Anyone could have made it.

Probably, yeah. But unless that person had some top-notch skill in the storytelling department I honestly doubt they could construct it like Kendrick did.

Reply back or not, I don't really care. Just know that I don't plan on cowering in fear like mostly everyone else on this forum when a thread comes around challenging Eminem's albums.

what's gkmc's concept? is it a parody of what the typical rapper from the hood would sound like?

InsaneTRex94 wrote:Blu, this is a serious question. Do you have some sort of god complex or something? Just because a song is forgettable for you, or unenjoyable to you, doesn't mean that it's like that for other people.

Listen you moron...I don't have a "god complex" and I certainly don't feel like my word is final. I back up my words with a general consensus. I don't just go around saying "OH HEY THIS SONG SUCKS" just because I dislike it. If a majority of people were also to run around saying "OH HEY THIS SONG SUCKS" just like I'm doing, then I definitely feel the need to stomp on this forum and get the facts out because the song does indeed suck due to the fact that most of the population says it does. Everyone says the new Lil Wayne sucks and that's why people barely fuck with him...it's how the world works.

If I dislike a song personally, I'll state my opinions, but I won't get into a huge argument that's completely based on my opinion alone. If I hear other people also dislike the song, then I'll be willing to state the fact that the song sucks and eventually blow the forum's potholes clean until everyone who's not siding with me is done violently slamming on their keyboards.

You get all that? Hop off this forum and enter a real hip-hop forum, where the members aren't brainwashed to love everything Eminem does. Christ.

InsaneTRex94 wrote:Seriously, are you that deprived of attention in real life or something that you have to come here and make yourself feel important? Is that what it is?

Nah, I'm actually the few people on this site that aren't mentally fucked in the head and get bullied in real life.

InsaneTRex94 wrote:SMH. How old are you, 10?

Sorry Geno.

Oh I see! So you call me "10" just for posting a pic degrading bigray's facial features, but when anyone *cough* Menzo *cough* Geno *cough* does it, it's completely acceptable and it's "funny?" Fuck outta here kid.

Actually, that's almost the opposite of how the world works. You're pick who is considered "everyone" based on what you already believe. "I think the song sucks and so do all those people so that means everyone thinks the song sucks. If you don't think it sucks then you don't count." There are far more rap fans who think that Lil Wayne is still great than think he sucks, your logic is completely off.

P.S. I don't even know what you're talking about, this is the only post I read.
