Don't use bias as the base of your argument.

I assume you are talking about Kingdom Come -- and then Encore, Relapse and Recovery.

I don't see how you can call Relapse a 'bad album' and think Kingdom Come is the only 'bad' Jay album by your same criteria.

I really hate to do the whole Big M - Accor thing.

No I don't lol, but I'm interested in this as well.

wat?

You're saying 'three bad albums' like that's fact.

Encore, I agree with, was a mixed bag and an artistic flop, a wasted theme, and lazy.

Relapse? definitely not bad. To me that album is near-classic, without the shitty tracks meant for other albums ruining it, it's strikingly consistent in sonic and style, and beautifully unique. I love it.

Recovery? again, definitely would not say BAD. Definitely not a classic either, but every track is either solid or brilliant; "Cold Wind Blows", "WTP", "Going Through Changes", "Seduction", "Space Bound"... "Cinderella Man", "Almost Famous" - BAD? It has some BEASTLY tracks.

I'd say Em has released three classics, one bad, and two decent.

yeah wat

btw though jay-Z definitely isn't consistent. That's his main problem IMO. I don't know if he has any bad albums (although BP3 is definitely arguable) but he has a bunch of forgettable ones. I think he's released 4 classics and he's such a great rapper which is what propels him into my top 5.

I do think Eminem has 3 bad-average at best albums though.

But according to Blu, every rapper can make an album like "The Eminem Show" so your argument is invalid Eminembase.

What more did you expect? I'd understand if the theme wasn't your cup of tea but those songs showcase why Em is an elite MC.
People gotta go back and listen to Relapse, it's much better than you guys think.

Well My Darling isn't on the album so that doesn't really count, although that song is pretty cool. Deja Vu is one of the best things Eminem will ever do, and My Mom is pretty great too. Especially the third verse. BPFB is atrocious though, not only is it unlistenable but what he's saying is laughable.

SS&D is good. The beat is amazing, the changing of the hook at the end is awesome, and I love the first verse. Especially since he doesn't really use the accent, it sound pretty great. The two other verses cheapen it to me though, they aren't nearly as good as the first one and the weird outdated celebrity references are really weird. I'd still give that song a 7/10 though, it's pretty good.

I think SWA is overrated on here. His rhyming is fantastic and the beat is good, that's pretty much it. He's still saying things like "jabada hut beddy by by it's time to die die" or whatever, and he's "dancing and his red pohnties". Like, cool, but not enough to be a great song.

Plus the album has straight up awful songs like Underground, CAB, and Insane. Medicine Ball and We Made You are completely forgettable, stupid, and unlistenable to me.

Hello is good. The "I don't need to buy drugs man, people give me 'em" part is fantastic. The beat is great and it would have been a good single. The accent is annoying though and none of the verses are truly fantastic, but it's good enough to earn a spot on the album.

Must Be The Ganja's second verse is VERY good, the other two verses are filler though. The accent is annoying, I like the hook. Pretty good song overall but it falls short because of the first and third verses.

I think it's a pretty average album. Great beats, great rhyme schemes, at times flat out bad lyricism, and a weird delivery.. I think Recovery is a bit better but harder to listen to.

That's dope. :8) I was born with a dick in my brain, yeah fucked in the head.

His delivery is amazing, the flow is great, the beat is dope and the chorus is nice. It's a cool funny/shocking (I agree he might try too hard on this) storytelling song, but I honestly like it a lot.

His confidence on that song is just perfect.. I can see why some people don't like it, but I personally would say it's in my top 3 with Déjà Vu and Same Song and Dance.

idk man I think that opening line is awful lol. I think he was trying WAY to hard to be MMLP Eminem on this song. The whole song kind of sounds like something one of his fans back in the early 2000's would write when trying to emulate his style.

The hook is cool though. I've never really noticed the beat.

I don't like it either. This is my less played song tbh.. !
lyrics are great but lyrics aren't enough to make a great song imo.
Even if the beat and the lyrics are crazy, it just doesn't sound good to me but a lot of relapse songs are dope

I never really LOVED Stay Wide Awake. Honestly, I always liked Same Song and Dance and Must Be The Ganja more.

Thank goodness this turned into a Relapse thread, I love Relapse so much, the least played songs are "Old Time's Sake" and "We Made You" for me

Revolutionary wrote:But Stay Wide Awake was supposed to be like that, that's what he intended to do with it.

The intro was perfect, the hook was awesome, and the first verse was really amazing.

"Fe-fi-fo-fum, I think I smell the scent of a placenta" Perfect opening line.
The progression of the verse was outstanding.

"I'm the kinda guy that's mild but I might flip and get a little bit wilder
Impregnate a lesbian, yeah, now let's see her have triplets and I'll di-
-sintegrate them babies as soon as they're out her with formalde-
-hyde and cyanide," What more can I say? Brilliant, and not because he's pretending to be intelligent or whatever.

Must Be The Ganja is AWESOME in the car, Dre really outdid himself on this one.
Old Time's Sake, I thought it fell short but still had a couple funny lines.
Those two songs are the kinda songs i'd play out loud and not really care about the lyrics, even know I think they're great.

I don't wanna get into it tbh, but I loved Relapse.
Only songs I can't stand are Beautiful, Medicine Ball and We Made You.

I'm not giving SWA a 0/10 or anything lol. There are good parts of the song. I just think it's a prime example of Eminem putting rhymes above lyricism (at times he says things just for the rhymes which hurts the song lyrically). From a technical only aspect it's pretty great, but lyrically I hardly think it's impressive. The beat and hook are very enjoyable though and he dances over the beat.

I agree with MBTG but again the other two verses are filler. Great beat, though. Old Time's Sake is very, very bad.. But at the same time has unintentional comedic value.

Back on Insane though, I think it kind of sounds like something Bizarre would write if he was a little better at flowing and rhyming. The flow still is kind of amateurish though
