Eminem ruined Lighters imo, I think it was a bad hip hop track but it could have been a great pop track.

Lighters was popular, cheesy hook songs are popular. Teenage girls especially like these types if songs, they are big music consumers therefore any rapper who wants mainstream success is going to try and cater to them. I was getting psyched up for Patiently Waiting part 2, something along those lines, until I heard Adam Freaking Levine. It could still be a really good song but the rapper + pop singer collabs are getting tired. It's not even that they're overdoing them its that they're the songs they push to radio and mainstream so you about them more than you want to.

It's ok, he did a great verse but he couldn't adapt it to the lighter beat (it's one of his role as an artist imo)...he could have done better !

I don't only listen to hip hop music, and I think you guys also listen to other genre but ligthers would have been a better track if B.M. was the only artist on the song imo The beat doesn't rly suit Eminem's style so I can't imagine ligthers being a solo song

They won't even try to know what's on the song (talking about the "pop" listeners as you'd call them), they just listen to it for the fucking sound of it.

And on rap "listeners", about 95% of them translate lyrics.. Which is the wrong thing to do if you listen to a rap song.. You can't translate some idioms, some puns, some metaphors, you can't translate rhymes.. That's why French mostly know nothing about US rap. And they claim to know it all..

I know you say that because I gave you the link of a french board but this is also untrue, I wasn't talking about french ppl (I don't rly know what french ppl think about Ligther)
Talk about ligther to a Bm's fan and tell him that bruno sucked hard on that song... same for other pop fans, for the ppl I know ( english or non english), most of them enjoyed the song because of bruno but I'll have to admit that these guys are pop fans

We don't all have the same reaction when we listen to a song.
Music doesn't mean lyrics. Lyrics are only a part of the song even if you understand every word and the general meaning of the song (which is very important but).
Hip hop is only a genre
