Completely generic lyrics and flow in comparison, and not as impressive - as Em was being thrown words at random, and was way more entertaining and unique.

looooool no. Eyedea's flow was 100 times more complex than Eminem's. Did you even listen to it? And being thrown random words makes it a lot easier to freestyle because you don't have to do the thinking on your own and you can focus on the rhyming. It's a lot harder to freestyle solely off of your own thoughts because you have to think of what you're going to say and then rhyme it. No Eminem freestyle can come close to comparing to Eyedea's freestyle.

I won't say many things in music are fact but it is an absolute fact that Eyedea is a better freestyle than Eminem.

FIRST time in my life I read something like that, even from an Eyedea's fan :o

U sure it is a fact and not an opinion?

Yes it is a fact. There is no "oh well I prefer his delivery more" of "I like that style more" or "I don't like his beats" or any excuse you can come up with. A freestyle is a freestyle and that's it.

Yep I listened to it.

Phrasing was corny and he sounds cheesy. The lyrics and phrasing were very regular, total lack of personality, not even close to Em in terms of rhyming phrases that are as naturalistic and everyday as they are peculiar and left-field. It was more... robotic and static, boring, no personality.

And no I don't think being thrown random words doesn't make it easier; as if you're freestyling off-the-top and can go ANYWHERE, you have more options. Where as if somebody throws you a specific word, you have less options and yes, in a sense that word provides you with a prop for the next line; but keeping a continuous flow of ideas and rhymes as somebody is spontaneously throwing words at you is amazing. And what he came out with was way funnier, more original and more striking than anything I heard in that freestyle vid which was mostly very predictable rapper babble.

Em is not even a decent off-the-top freestyler in general (aside from that one occasion) when he'd normally attempt it he'd lose most of his rhythm and just keep aimlessly swearing and tripping up. So I concede that Eyedea is a better freestyler, in terms of actual ability to do it on the spot, but Em's 'first word' freestyle was way better than that to me.

No, you're just simply wrong. It's like you're so used to give the same argument when comparing someone to Eminem that you think it will always work but this time the argument you're making is the exact opposite of the actual situation. Eyedea is 10x more creative than Eminem, his flows are out of this world and his personality is through the roof. Eminem when free styling is none of that. How many times did he say I'm ishin on you? Like ten? Everything he said was generic and boring and used multiple times in the verse unless it was an obvious written line that he's used in other verses. Your stan is showing.

And no, I'm not telling you I think it's easier...I'm telling you it is easier. I've freestyles so many times I can't even count for friends at parties or whatever and I can assure that it is much easier if I ask them to give me words first than if I do it on my own.

@Amadeo, that backup dancer line was the fast freestyle I've ever seen. He was literally in the middle of the line before it when he started dancing and he somehow ended it with rap enhancer in like a split second. It blows my mind every time I watch it.

This goes kinda goes against your argument.

It is more impressive to me when someone is free styling something clever/witty towards their surroundings. (like words given to you, things you notice, retorts to what someone said, backup dancer line).

Than it is to spit multis upon multis and keeping an awesome flow. (don't get me wrong, this is a very hard and practiced skill).

But that's what separates the likes of Mac Lethal and Justice from what Dizaster does. (and Eyedea was doing quite a bit of that during the video "progression/agression/session" "Penetrate/demonstrate" etc.)

Nope, I'm not wrong. We just disagree.

Eyedea is not creative or unique in that freestyle, his phrasing is generic as fuck, he starts lines off in some of the most predictable and cheesy ways ever, and his thoughts are boring. He's not particularly witty, and nothing he says strikes much of a cord. More personality my ass.

And really, reverting to stan because we disagree? piss poor.

We all know you love to show how anti-Em you are now, as do this new generation of once-were-Em fans who think it's cooler to constantly state how much they don't listen to him now and how 'blind they used to be' etc. (yeah, I went through that phase at like 13 lmao, have fun) - but claiming somebody is a stan just because they disagree Eyedea is better... absurd.

No it doesn't. That was so impressive because of how fast it happened. Freestyling off your own thoughts are much harder than using things around you. (I'm not talking about battling, but just actual free styling.) Using things around you is a crutch, that's why people do it so much.

Dude it's a fucking freestyle, what do you expect? A verse with a bunch of intricate wordplay with a complex theme? We're not talking about written verses, we're talking about free styling, something you obviously know nothing about and it's showing.
