Eminem rhyme schemes other rappers bit

Postby EminemInsider » Nov 6th, '12, 08:56

Not sure how many there are, but I thought a thread on this might be interesting if we get participation from people who have been listening to rap more than me.

Here are a couple I've noticed seem to be everywhere:

fake ID/HIV

*Nas in "I Can"
*Justice in a freestyle Amadeo linked to
*I forget, but I've heard it other times, I'm sure.

spinal chord/dinosaur

*Organik in his battle vs. Kid Twist

I can't remember what song it is or exactly how the lyrics went unfortunately.

But I remember hearing some unknown rapper doing something along the lines of these lyrics.

My emergency exit/Nervous and reckless/I was searching for sex and/learning, expecting/that I'm deserving respect kid.

It's not so inconceivable.

I bet a few quid you'd have a few Tech schemes in your lyrics, intentional or not.

Yeah, I'm sure it's just a giant coincidence that these rappers arrived at the same rhyme schemes as Eminem, and they'd never heard them in his songs before. :facepalm

1. They used the same rhymes as Eminem
2. They'd obviously heard Eminem use these rhymes before

What's there to argue here? They bit him, intentionally or not.

Lol it's just a frivolous thread. Calm down, people.

"Yo, I'm a hot and bothered astronaut crashin' while
Jackin' off to bufferin' vids of Asher Roth "

More of a homage but yeah, Kendrick on Average Joe -

I do everyday life music"

^That reminded me of one I noticed upon first listen. Not a rhyme scheme but alliteration.

When I first noticed it I genuinely wasn't sure if it was a homage.

No, it's just it's getting annoying seeing people go out of their way to intentionally talk shit about Em just to get Stans mad...it's immature and pathetic tbh. Don't fall into that bullshit please because I like you as a poster.

What's there to argue here? They bit him, intentionally or not.
First off, there is a difference between rhymes schemes and rhymes alone. These examples are not following Em's rhyme schemes. That would be biting.

The fact is that a massive portion of Em's multi's had been recorded in songs prior to him using them. Nobody here would argue that Em is a big hiphop fan as a whole, and probably heard many of them in his years coming up. Does that mean that Em's biting those rappers? No. Because it's completely different context, and it's usually drowned in a plethora of other completely unrelated rhymes that form the bars in which the multi was used.

In hiphop rhyming is the melody and thus our instrument is the dictionary -- Syllables = notes. By your standards anybody who's ever hit the same note as your favorite guitarist is biting them.

The only way to do something new is if you make the multis longer and longer...this is what Eminem thought he had to do on Relapse and what The Saurus thinks he has to do in every battle. It gets kinda boring though.
Word, I enjoy it though. It's all preference :y:

There's actually a major one in one of class' written pieces that I noticed when I checked out his stuff.

My teacher told me nothin rhymed with orange
So I through her corpse in the morgue then
Screwed four inch nails in the door hinge

My version:
My teacher told me nothing rhymed with orange...
......so I locked her in the storage booth and made her listen to Eminem.

So where are all these previously done multisyllabic rhymes Eminem was using?

If you can find somebody who rhymed "HIV" with "fake ID" before Eminem, please feel free to point it out. If not, then I think it deserves mentioning that Eminem was the one who came up with it.

We're not talking about "world" and "girl" here. People don't just tear out a sheet of paper and go, "fake ID/HIV." Well, not unless they've heard Role Model before.

Not the same thing. There are only so many notes. The English language is vast and the combination of words you can put together is pretty much endless.

When a musician uses the same chord progression for a song that another musician has used, it's usually mentioned.
