I'm only relaying information I have found while researching the issue. It's not like I made them up to try to prove a point. If you can find a source that disputes anything I have posted I would be very interested to read it. I have based my opinion on the information I have been able to gather. I'm not selectively reading articles that will only support my position. Brothers and sisters, parent and child, there is definitely an increase in the chance of having a disabled baby. With cousins the risk seems too low to really matter.

I meant that I'm pretty sure it was talking about doing drugs during pregnancy.

Which you'd have a very good case to criminalise.

The article stipulated "during pregnancy" for those that apply during pregnancy.

For example, the cocain and marijuana statistics had a much higher chance of birth defects than cigarettes because the statistic for marijuana and cocain were during pregnancy. The chance of smokers having a deformed baby was much lower than even marijuana for example, because it was referring to smokers in general, not just smoking during pregnancy.

Actually I think it applied to cocain users in general. Swap cocain for alcohol in my above paragraph.

Yeah, but I didn't find anywhere conclusive that said it was in 'in general'.

Hence me not fully trusting the evidence.

I assumed, since the risk for marijuana was what it was, someone sucking down cigarettes daily with a developing feotus in their uterus would have a much higher risk of problems.

You're right though, it isn't specific. I think it still gives a good idea of comparative environmental factors.

It's also on a website called cousincouples so it's going to be biased.

Yeah but if it is during pregnancy then there isn't much of a claim to be made.

Most people are against mothers doing weed/alcohol/cigarettes during pregnancies for the exact same reason.

It would be very surprising if simply being a smoker (not during pregnancy) was a higher chance.

1) Can you argue for one specific type of love, using the arguments listed above, and still exclude certain types such as incest?

No.

2) Is there anything "wrong" with incest, other than the "taboo" feeling society has created?

No. Besides the reaction you might receive from society.

Here are my questions for you though:
1) Are you biologically programmed to love your cousin from birth?

2) If you do fall in love with your cousin, is it possible that you can fall out of love with her and find someone else?

I think the answer is no and yes.

But it's kind of irrelevant.

Why are you still stuck on this Tash.

I think the answer is yes and yes. But you can't ever 'fall out of' being attracted to men.

And you have to swap 'love' to 'being attracted to' in your first question.

But again it's irrelevant. Keep finding differences between gay people and incestous people though :y:

It's really adding to the conversation.

Crashband answers: No

If you are a gay male, Are you biologically programmed to love men from birth?
Crashband answers: Yes

1) Gay marriage is not the same as cousin marriage; they are two separate issues that have similar consequences from society. 2) Cousin marriage is legal in 19 states, while gay marriage is legal in 9 states.

First of all, change 'love' to 'being attracted to' like I said.

I already explained to you how people who support gay marriage are hypocritical or have double standards.

What part do you not get?

You have to give a good reason why they shouldn't be able to get married. There isn't for either - is what SliK is proposing.

Not to me, it looks like the other way around from these statistics. 19 states accept cousins getting married, but only 9 accept gay marriage. If anything people who support cousin marriages are hypocritical or have a double standard on gay marriage.

I think you have a misconception of my point, I don't have a problem with cousins getting married. I have a problem with the OT's logic. Gay marriage and cousin marriages are NOT the same. So stop using one to excuse the other.
