Encore is better than Relapse/Recovery

Stans acting defensive again. Encore did have a plethora of classic tracks. Name one song on Recovery that can match ''Mockingbird'' or ''Toy Soldiers.'' ''Spend Some Time'' had some raw shady, ''Just Lose it'' was funny. Encore wasn't his greatest effort I admit, but it did outsell Recovery in the first week of sales. 99 % of hip hop fans don't even respect Eminems post rehab material. Proofs passing must have really diminished his confidence, which is understandable. When Eminem decides to rap, then I'll give him credit. But until that transpires and until he becomes the impeccable MC he once was, I'm not remaining on the bandwagon. I'll listen to anything that doesn't include dicks and doritos.

I'm not the only person in the world who thinks recovery was shit. I don't like eminem tbh. Not everyone has to. Not modern eminem. I do agree that encore had some pathetic songs but recovery and relapse ate far from good. At the very least encore won hands dosp lyrically and conceptually. I guess eminem has settled for mediocrity.

Encore is definitely the best of the three conceptually. The concept and imagery of Encore is fairly brilliant; it's a perfect sister album to The Eminem Show in vision, concept, colour and THEORY. But it's all totally wasted and the end result is a sloppy, messy, lazy, mixed-bag Bipolar fest.

Relapse is lyrically incredible and bar two songs, superbly consistent and unified. And Recovery, despite the overbearing and all-over-the-place production, and lack of a true sound, has some absolutely brilliant lyricism and songs that even in their individual states, shit all over Encore.

Recovery is pretty authentic. Quickly turning into the worst poster on here. Hate on Recovery all you want but Eminem is still true to himself bar a few lines like the Relapse disses and he's a better rapper than most on that album alone.

Encore is still the weakest project Eminem put out. I don't need to even argue this just cause puke and big weenie speak for themselves. Recovery is lyrically a great album but the production was off. Relapse was heavily underrated.. but I do think lots of people on here dick ride that album to death. The closest I've heard Eminem going back to his old ways is on H:TS. The lyrics and flows from eminem & royce were fucking incredible the production was dark and gritty (excluding lighters)... to me H:TS is the best eminem project since The Eminem Show. I also find it funny how people were jizzing over recovery when it first came out but now its just ''ok'' or decent''. Some people even call it trash. I personally like the fast flow and the shouting a lot it doesn't bother me. I can kinda understand the accent even though it didn't bother me... but people are gonna start bitching cause hes flowing godly and shouting? That doesn't make a bit of sense. Eminems verse on Above the Law was perfect to me but the shouting and flow bothers people. I feel like at this point in Eminems career people are gonna bitch about everything regardless of what he puts out. OH btw.. Seduction, Going through Changes, Almost famous>>>>>>>>encore. Toy Soldiers was abundantly deep and personal. Unfortunately that concept ultimately came into fruition, fatally. Mockingbird is widely considered one of Eminems top hits of all time, it's a very touching work of art and he did it for the most important person in his life, Halie. I give Eminem credit for putting in decent effort with his Recovery album. But you can tell that his attitude is pretty forced and his punch lines tend to fail or negate itself. Other songs that Encore didn't get ample credit for included Yellow Brick Road, Never Enough, Crazy in Love, and the finale song Encore. When we look back at Eminems timeline, Encore has it's place in hip hop history. We will always think of Proof and when we think of him we tend to be more reminiscent of Toy Soldiers than we are of You're Never Over. Most people remember Eminem going in hiatus as opposed to making a comeback with We Made You. The song Encore was very symbolic and it was his way of creatively communicating to his fans, hinting that he is taking a break indefinitely. Encore was stupendous concept wise. And ultimately without Encore, there would be no bridge or gateway in order to create the concepts of Relapse and Recovery. Without Encore, Eminem would not have lasted this long. Encore ties everything in together. Recovery was just an album full of high energetic but sporadic tracks, but no skits, no real story, and the songs were discernibly more inconsistent and ambiguous. Eminems concept on Recovery failed, he only rapped about his recovery for brief periods. I don't think Recovery was the appropriate name for the album and ultimately his songs didn't exactly fit together.

I'm listening to Encore again just so I don't have a biased sounding opinion. This is the only Eminem album where he sounds lazy. Hes slurring words hes talking a bunch of nonsense. Its almost saddening how bad he sounds on a majority of the album. I like 5 songs on the album. 7 if you count We as americans and love you more. Thats not good. Yet he was on drugs so to come out with 7 decent songs 5 not including the bonus cd is impressive.

^ No. Encore basically had one amazing song ruined by features, which is Spend Some Time. The rest of the "good songs" are not on pair with the great songs on Recovery.

Even though on relapse/recovery there were songs that weren't good, he at least sounded like he was trying. Encore he sounded lazy he sounded unfocused like it really wasn't fun. Even the songs I did like were lazy. Encore just may be the worst album ever put out by an amazing rapper. I seriously pretend it never happened. The production wasn't really good either. We as Americans is still my favorite track. I'd like to see Bush dead too. I wouldn't call any track on Encore a classic.. thats a MAJOR stretch.
