Firstly "Everyone should be able to say any word they like". Yes, but that isn't really relevant to what I'm saying. Unless you are just using that to show why the censor should be lifted.
I think you can justify if something
should be considered offensive.
I made a thread arguing why swearwords like 'fuck' shouldn't be offensive. I don't think gay people should be offensive. Or woman not covering their heads with a burma.
Although, these are all things that people get unjustifiably offended by. Due to ignorance, close-mindedness and plain stupidity.
But something like an insult is pretty easy to comprehend why someone would take offense. If I made fun of you about your ugly looks or small dick you would probably take offense.
