Basically, if you think you "grew out" of Eminem's music, you never understood it to begin with. Your appreciation of his music was childish, not the music itself. You didn't understand it.

As a kid, I used to think to it was just funny and awesome to listen to without really knowing why Em said that particular line or why he approached this subject in that way.
I just used to listen to it and not care about the lyrics.
Now that i'm old enough to understand his music, I find it much more entertaining and much better.
Everybody in this thread seems to be like this. I'm the same way.
I'd disagree to an extent. I've found artists who have out-developed Em since the days when he was my #1 and thus I've moved on to them. Em's music is still great to me, but not as good as some other artists currently.EminemInsider wrote:Basically, if you think you "grew out" of Eminem's music, you never understood it to begin with. His old stuff just kinda bores me now. I find a lot of it pretty corny. Anyone else feel this way? Songs like SFTM and Til I Collapse are still amazing, but a lot of his songs just seem boring/childish. Anyone else growing away from him? This isn't hate btw, he obviously wasn't trying to be mature. The content just bores me now. Shit like Illmatic and Ready to Die still sounds golden to me.

This doesn't make sense.
This implies he's trying to sound like he did![]()
He may be trying to recapture his attitude from back then, but he's INTENTIONALLY sounding much, much different. You'll find a video of him in 2002 saying 'if you sound the same as on your last album, what's the point'. Irrespective of your opinion on the new styles, the point is: he's not trying to sound like back then and failing, so "can't even sound..." doesn't make sense...
He wants to sound different every album.

It's okay to sound subtly different but not an extreme disparity. Listen to Jay Z or Nas, they don't sound drastically different from they old selves. I mean listen to Em's voice in Relapse. That was completely utter nonsense and you cannot tell me that isn't the case.

Can you ban him? Please? I will reward you in ways that will blow your fucking mind.
