@Blu, tbh I love Eyedea but one listen through his discography isn't going to scratch the surface of his genius. I've listened to him close to 1,500 times and I'm still discovering new things ever time I listen to him. His thoughts are so deep, abstract and complex it takes a lot of spins to understand what he's saying. And I'm not saying this in a Canibus way at all. He's not that kind of complex. Just his insight into reality and the human mind is a lot to handle and takes a while to grasp.

Eyedea was most definitely ne of the deepest thinkers to ever grace hip hop. His voice sounds NOTHING like Asher... Other than the fact he doesn't have a ghetto rap accent.. If you think we put him on a pedestal, it's because he deserves to be. He was a rare person. In an art form as convoluted as hip hop, he didnt follow anyone. He saw the road and said fuck it and took the woods adjacent.


Like Class said, i've listened to him nearly every day for nearly 4 years and I still pick up lines and other liitle nuances I missed previous. The song This Story is a great example of that

He sounds nothing like Asher or the typical hard wannabe underground rapper. He sounds fresh.

I'd say it's equal in all albums. By The Throat is my favorite album because it's an emotional atom bomb and it was what got me into Eyedea but it might be different for you idk.

Blu, I'd say just listen to his discography and choose for yourself. There isn't really one prefect choice. His mindstate around the time Even Shadows Have Shadows was much different than BTT.
