You seem to take the members here seriously Abraam. I guess since you've been here for about three years you eventually get used to everybody here.

The thing about TR in the past is that it seemed more like a community. Everyone knew each other and could have an easy discussion. Now, people only come for Eminem news.

People were always coming for the Eminem news though.

The issue is that the dynamic has changed. Everyone is either relying on Eminem news or some purposefully provocative thread to get the discussion going. It's like, the trolling is the only way to motivate people, and it's always negative. That's not sustainable though.

What I'm saying is, there doesn't seem to be as much room for intelligent discussion. If there is, it's confined to one or two threads, and there will only be a couple members posting there. Unfortunately, the rest of the threads are populated with people saying "loob" and "boii", and to be completely honest, they have nothing to contribute at all.

Beyond that, there are members, but none of them have really figured out what a forum is about yet. They seem to post on the basis of minimalist contributions, in order to boost a post count. This type of thing has always existed in a forum, but it takes a group of genuinely interesting personalities to make it worth staying at.

Without Eminem, this forum will eventually die, there isn't much debating that. The point is, while it's here, why don't we put ourselves out there more, and genuinely contribute our thoughts and viewpoints on whatever worthy topic there is going at the time. Unfortunately, there are only a couple of members actually doing things like that, and the rest of the high-volume threads are troll threads meant to piss people off. That type of thing will always have it's place, but it seems to have become one of the only lifelines left here.

I think the forum generally is heading in a good direction. I'm impressed with some of the newish members, I'm glad the stupid ones are as stupid as they are, and the best of the best are still up there with the best of them. I just hope that people will keep in mind that the adversarial mindset is great at times, but the community is what makes this place worthwhile.

I agree. Unfortunately, it seems like no one is really interested in sparking a discussion. And every time someone tries to, the topic is usually derailed and everyone is suddenly talking about Eminem.

Someone will make an interesting thread, then someone will jump in and bring up Eminem or Kanye West, then from there it all goes downhill.

I really do want to see a GREAT discussion happen, but unfortunately with the way things are going, no one would really bother.

I assure you, it's just one of those dark times. It's going to be a slow transition, but I do think that if everyone focuses less on what's wrong, and more about actually stimulating conversation, things will get better.

I've seen times worse than this one. Of course, some people hailed those times as the most interesting, so it just comes down to taste I suppose. If anyone's looking for a forum full of Almostlity's, just go around asking for confrontational idiots to stimulate the forum traffic.

I don't like people that go out of their way to upset others; not to prove a point, or anything like that, but rather just to watch them react and make themselves feel better. I don't understand it, and perhaps that's why it annoys me. People acting dumb, or joking around, or just doing random bullshit isn't an issue, it's the people that purposefully troll to try to upset others.
