There is no known working solution, otherwise there wouldnt be any problem...

But theres ways of coming closer to a solution, Class mentioned some of them.
Clean up the streets for starters, old women shouldnt worry for their lives walking home from work.

I believe Cheese's solution would be to outlaw carrying weapons outside of the home, ban personal ownership of semi auto and high-capacity magazines, and keep most sporting weapons constrained to gun clubs and shooting ranges.

For protection outside of the home, he would advocate for surveillance and police protection. In addition to that, people should avoid areas where something might happen to them and no one could witness it. These are all fine ideas, and I'm sure they are working quite well for most of the world.

But this is America, god damn it!

Compared to other 1st world nations, we definitely lead by a significant margin as far as gun violence is concerned.

Im not overly fond of drugs other than alcohol (which is perfectly legal here).

I'm sure smoking kills more people annually than guns, but governments make money (a LOT of money) off cigarettes. So really, governments aren't concerned about the lives of their citizens. It's just, guns don't make them money.
