Trying to get into more undeground MC's

Postby Blu » Dec 16th, '12, 02:39

But I don't wanna listen to the some complete whiner who just raps about his shitty life. The rappers in the mainstream are starting to really bore me and so is all the ignorant trap music.

So who are some good, entertaining, underground rappers that have their own flair? Their own style. They sound professional and they sound comfortable on the mic.

Thanks.

Just because someone is an underground rapper doesn't necessarily mean they're going to be better than their mainstream "counterpart".

For a lot (not most, but a lot) of the underground rap scene, there's a reason why they're underground, whether it's a lack of personality, generic lyrics, bad beats, or something else. Just like in popular rap music, you're gonna have to pile through a lot of shit to find a gem.

But anyway, since I'm here I might as well give you a name or two:

-The entire QN5 roster (seriously, you won't be disappointed)
-Dessa
-Deltron 3030
-Hieroglyphics
-Souls Of Mischief
-Blackalicious
-Zion I
-Panacea
-Braille
-Spoonfull
...The mortician of love, sent from above
Forced entry, the more wenchy, the more stingy I become
Been doing this for more than a quarter century, I'm just numb...

Listen to the The Life and Times of Peter Nelson. It's his best album.

Forever and a Day and Tic Toc are probably the best songs on there. (Don't watch the video of Tic Toc though, lol. It could turn you off him).

Also Kendrick Lamar or Macklemore, if you haven't already.

Rhyme Asylum/Lowkey if you don't mind the accents.

And Atmosphere > Any underground artist, period.

A Book of Human Language would be a better option to get into his music imo....
