There are two ways of looking at skits, one is that they can link up an album and turn it into more of a story than a collection of songs, and also they can be funny or a nice break from the music.
An example would be in The Eminem Show, The Kiss skit is the introduction to Soldier but is also featured in the Superman video. That kind of links up the tracks, and then the Steve Berman skit is more of a break from the music.
But then on the other hand there are some albums that just have unrelated skits (cant think of an example while im writing this, possibly the School Spirit / Lil Jimmy Skits in The College Dropout but i can see how they go along with the rest of the album) that just get in the way of the music and can ruin the feel of an album.
Anyway.. i was talking with someone about this and they said people should just not include skits on albums, i disagreed and said that sometimes theyre good..
So basically do the people of TR like skits in general or not? Do they add to an album and make it more interesting to listen to or do they just get in the way of the music?
I am aware that this thread probably already has been made, several times.
